Yaba Mediterranean Grill — Restaurant in Raleigh

My recent visit to Yaba Mediterranean Grill left much to be desired. Arriving on a Sunday evening with my wife, we were eager to sample their cuisine but were ultimately disappointed with the experience. We opted for a chicken rice bowl salad and a gyro plate, totaling $33. However, the quality of the food fell short of expectations. The chicken was undercooked, emitting a raw smell, and the yellow rice was mushy, sticky, and cold, indicating improper temperature control. Regrettably, I couldn't stomach more than a few spoonfuls of the rice before discarding the rest, and upon returning home, I became ill and threw up. Adding to the dissatisfaction was the behavior of the staff member behind the counter, who was not only loud but also rude. His profanity-laden phone conversation, oblivious to the presence of other patrons, created an uncomfortable atmosphere, particularly among the women in the establishment. Furthermore, witnessing his inappropriate conduct (flirting) towards female customers further soured our experience. The cleanliness of the premises was also lacking. Tables were dirty, necessitating cleaning before use, and the overflowing trash can emitted an unpleasant odor. The main entrance door was smudged with fingerprints, suggesting a lack of maintenance. Overall, the combination of subpar food quality, poor customer service, and unsanitary conditions leads me to advise against visiting Yaba Mediterranean Grill, especially for those seeking a respectful environment for their families.

Food is really good however the service hasn’t been the best lately. Placed an online order over the weekend and when we went to pickup I was told they didn’t have any chicken nuggets for the kids meal so instead they gave a quesadilla. I told my husband no my kid doesn’t eat that so we got a wrap instead. They told him to keep quesadilla . Get home to find out they subbed us a cheese quesadilla! Good thing I said no. No offer of a refund or anything. How do you go from nuggets to a cheese quesadilla? I could see a sub for a chicken quesadilla maybe. I gave them another chance today for lunch. Placed an online order got there and they had no record of it. Then I was told 3 mins and the guy would bring it to the door for me as I had the baby with me. I wait 10 mins and finally go in..guess what..he forgot he said he’d bring the food to me. There weren’t any other customers so idk how that even happened. I’m completely disappointed as this used to be a favorite spot. I won’t spend money here again unless they make these...

I came by this past Friday at around 1:15pm. When I walked in there were 3 or 4 women working. Before greeting me they talked off handedly between themselves. I felt uncomfortable because even though I was the only one there it took several mins for anyone to say anything to me. Just looked at me. Then one woman asked what I wanted and I started to order. Then she said with snarky look one min. Then the lady right next to her said what do you want? So rude. The next customer was a man and they were so welcoming the min he stepped in as well as the guests behind him. The falafel pita was good but the amount of taboulah I received as a side was sad. These women are rude as hell and should never be in customer service. They seem racist. Wonder if that's why they had to hang the all inclusive poster that is obviously not genuine. If you don't like Americans the leave the country. We dont want that here...we are all different and here that is good. I'll never ever come back was even worried they might have messed...
