Hallmark Creations is the premiere gift specialty store in North Raleigh. It has been an established venue since it is opened years ago and it sets the model for other Hallmark stores in the area. It even has its own dedicated parking spaces at the side of the store. Staff members are always friendly, cheerful, and helpful with customers. They also let customers browse, shop, and move freely throughout the store. Staff always go the extra mile to find merchandise for customers, from calling other stores to ordering directly from Hallmark for items. I am dedicated fan of Peanuts, so the manager has helped me get Peanuts collectibles for gifts time and again. When my mother passed away some years ago, I was dedicatedly looking for this special angel created by the Hallmark Heritage collection. I contacted all of the Hallmark stores in the Raleigh area. The manager of Hallmark Creations surely went the extra mile to deliver the angel to me. It had appeared in a Hallmark brochure in mid-September that year. She knew that I wanted it as a Keepsake of my late mother, and I purchased another one for my sister, too. She even honored the 20% off coupon that I had kept until I was looking at the angel with her in the store. That being said, unlike most Hallmarks they put security stickers in the ornament boxes which sometimes get stuck to the white tissue and over time become annoying when putting ornaments back in the boxes each year. I store my ornaments in the original boxes. They also take the ornaments out at the time of purchase to ācheck themā and while some of the employees are very careful and conscientious, others are not and end up tearing the box or it just looks not new which is not a problem if itās for me, but it is an issue if itās a gift for someone else. Today I purchased a few ornaments and told the lady I didnāt need them checked and another employee interjected and said, āNo we have to check them because you might go home and say the ornament is chipped and may want to return it.ā It sounded rather accusatory. Iāve bought hundreds of Hallmark ornaments over the years and Iāve only had a couple that had an issue and they were electronic ones which arenāt tested at the store anyway (I.e., a lighthouse that didnāt light up and a Little Mermaid ornament that was defective). However, upon waiting for my pick up order to be brought out I was told it wasnāt ready with fear that these ornaments were practically gone. I was able to grab identical ones with them having only the display left to sell. However upon checking out my pick up order was not able to be āfilledā and needed to pay again separately and told I needed to cancel online. I attempted to do so but the staff who told me I need to do this had no way of telling me how. I was then told to call the 800 number and decided to check out and do later. I called the 800 number and they said the store needed to cancel the order because it was already in their hand to fulfill. Really frustrating when the effort is put in to the customers responsibility but no one has proper procedures to do so. Maybe suggest putting a better system in place rather than having customers waste their time when they are the ones...
