Placed my order a little before 11pm. At 11:33, I pressed the button to ask if maybe there was a mistake and we were forgotten. The lady came over the speaker rudely and demanded to know the name on our order. We were never asked for a name and I tried to explain that but she was cutting me off and speaking super hostile towards me like it's my fault that I've been sitting for almost 40 mins at this point. I then had to repeat my entire order to her while she spoke to me with such a bad attitude. She then quickly cuts off the intercom and hops onto the drive-thru speaker to continue taking orders there. Mind you, we'd been sitting there, and the drive thru was not busy. We watched them clear the drive thru 3x and even go minutes between drive thru customers while we waited for our order. Honestly, we should've ordered in the drive thru and then parked to eat because we would've had our order in less than 5 mins. The order was 2 sonic blasts, 1 milkshake, a coke zero, and 1 plain ice cream scoop. No food. 2 mins after I spoke to the rude woman, a man came out with our order. I asked for the woman's name so I could call the next morning and speak with a manager. The guy tried to act like he didn't know anyone's name that he worked with. Finally, he told me her name was Tammy. We decided not to eat at the parking stall because it had gotten so late, but I noticed that all of the ice cream was melted. We pulled around to the front to ask for a refund. The same man who brought us our order comes out and lies that he just made those ice creams, but because they're making so many of them, the ice cream machine wasn't properly freezing the mix. This maybe could be a good excuse, except the WHIPPED CREAM on top was basically water. If the ice cream machine was the problem, the whipped cream would've still been fresh. But even still, why would you see that your product isn't up to par and still hand it to a paying customer like there's nothing wrong with it? I didn't appreciate being lied to like we were stupid. Clearly, they had made our order and let it sit for over 40 mins because they had forgotten about us. The guy said we could have our refund but still take the items. Why would we want to take melted ice cream? We told them to keep it and just give us the refund. Then we were told they had no manager on duty, so our refund couldn't be processed tonight. I've worked fast food before, and so I know the struggles, but I've NEVER spoken to customers like I was spoken to tonight. I wasn't even a rude customer, but the woman was immediately hostile, acting like we were bothering her for asking the status of our order after waiting over 40 mins. The crazy thing is that I truly believe if we'd never asked about our order, we'd be sitting there until...
Read moreI was there yesterday. I ordered one cheeseburger, all the way, a bacon, double cheeseburger, all the way, a single cheeseburger, without anything at all (for my dog), large onion rings, small fries, a medium chocolate shake and a large banana shake. Yes, its kind of a long order, but we weren't a bus load of Japanese tourists, either. Two people and a dog and they never did get it quite right. Communicating the order was a real drag. Either he couldn't hear us clearly, or we were mumbling and I don't think that was the case. By the time we were sure he had to have it (their guy) we had gone over it at least 10 times and he still goofed the whole thing up. We somehow got an extra sandwich ... Burger on Texas toast with bacon, etc., the banana shake had no banana in it, the dog's burger had onion, catsup and mustard and they rushed the onion rings, the result, they were under done and totally limp. By the time it came time to pay, it was pretty obvious that the guy in the window didn't really want to be there and we were sort of being tolerated, but the upshot was that, even without the extra sandwich the amount due was almost thirty three dollars! I could have gone right across the street and sat down to a meal at Toraro's, one of my favorite places. It's not McDonald's and that's good, but I'd say I probably won't go back. The food was unremarkable, at best, the person who waited on us at the drive through had no idea what he was doing and it was very expensive. Since going to Sonic I went to Steak and Shake on Millbrook Road, less then five minutes away and had a great experience. I got a comparable amount of food at the drive thru window, the person who took my order got it right the very first time (fancy that!), the food was worlds better and the price for the amount and quality of food I got seemed much more reasonable, and the young lady who served me was not only efficient, but also friendly and cheerful. I wouldn't go back to the Sonic on Millbrook on a bet but I plan to make Steak and Shake my new burger joint as it's close by for me and it's awesome! I know this has been a long review, but Sonic really pissed me off and St teak and Shake was soooo good that I wanted to offer an alternative. Hope this has...
Read moreI liked this location. I've had some good experiences. But I've had too many negative ones to continue to go here. In fact, the last encounter and lack of quality customer communication/service (with corporate, not this specific location) was enough to make me never want to visit another Sonic again.
I ordered on the app, arranged for my food to be ready at a certain time, and drove to the restaurant. No indication of anything amiss. I was there a couple of minutes after the time I'd specified and knew from experience there would likely still be a wait. Store was meant to open at 7:30 a.m. and I was there around 8:35 a.m. I parked at a stall, entered my info into the app (which was fortunately working...it only does and half the time, which is a whole different issue). I waited 10-15 minutes. Screen said my order was being made. I pressed red button. No response. After another 5 minutes, I drove to drive thru window. It was only then I realized no one was even at the store.
The screens were on and working at the stalls. I believed my order was being prepared. I wasted 20 minutes and was late to work. All I got from corporate was a gaslighty apology (oops, looked like you got there before the store opened... even after I sent screen shots from their hours on Google that showed the store should have been opened for an hour at that point) and a refund.
I don't know what the issue was, but this shouldn't have happened. Mistakes happen, but there was no attention given to it. If Sonic cared, the location would have realized that an order was paid for and never received and they would have reached out to me instead of me having to contact corporate.
Sometimes, sure, you'll have a great experience at this location. Sometimes, you'll wait 30 minutes for your order. Sometimes, they won't even be there and your order won't get made. As for me, I'm all done. Taking my...
