I wanted falafel. They didn't have it on the menu. First sign of impending doom. I don't eat meat, but against my gut (it was telling me "get the hummus stoopid"), I went with the veggie gyro. I regret it. After four bites, I felt nauseous. It had pesto aioli, so I'm guessing, perhaps, that was the culprit. Or maybe they cooked the veggies next to uncooked meat... Several days later, the nausea is gone, but I've got a sore throat. Bacteria from old aioli maybe. Needless to say, I will not be going there again. I should have just thrown $10 away and fasted that day, because nothing is worth more than your health.
Edit/response: I have absolutely NO food allergies (good genes). Your menu in itself has nothing to do with the fact that I walked into your restaurant feeling great, went back to work, ate your food and spent the rest of the afternoon feeling sick/nauseous. Almost immediately too (after 4 bites). I continued to feel that way for two days. The only other thing I ate that day were two clementines. The only thing in the meal I can pinpoint that would lead me to feel that way is the pesto aioli on the veggie gyro. Unless the veggies were old and moldy, to which I don't believe because they did not taste off themselves. Or maybe the bread was moldy? Pesto has to be refrigerated and aioli has to be refrigerated. I am a home chef, i know about food, I've two kids I cook for (breakfast before school, freshly made home lunches and dinners from scratch) EVERY DAY, partially for this reason--So they don't get sick off other people's food. I've made both pesto and aioli before. So, I know that if you don't handle those two things properly, there is a possibility for them to go bad real quick, and make people sick. You should absolutely be aware of my adverse reaction to your food and not deflect by mentioning not having a fryer, your cuisine and food allergies. I don't care about the money I spent there, I care about my health. Your food made me sick. So I'm letting you know. Whether it was an anomaly or not, doesn't matter. The facts...
Read moreI love Mediterranean/greek food and have had tons over the years. This was incredibly disappointing.
Maybe they have a different regional recipe from most, but everywhere I've been it's been pretty similar great tasting dishes.
Tazikis was not what I was hoping for....
Order chargrilled lamb platter, taziki and hummus with grape leaves side, and kids grilled chicken meal.
The lamb was incredibly tough and flavorless. Imagine skirt steak with no marinade cooked until well done.
Taziki was fairly bland. I was expecting more tangy yogurt with a sweet cucumber taste.
Hummus was spicy, like it had red peppers, was supposed to be plain.
The grape leaves were hot, rice was yellow, and it was more of a stuffed dumpling ball shape. Never had one like this. I was expecting a cool tangy/sour with moist rice like every other grape leave I've ever had in my entire life. I didn't finish the second one.
The chicken from the kids menu was flavorless and incredibly dry. The speed with which it came out left me to wonder how "fresh" it was going to be.
The cashier was a younger woman who's robotic greeting and insincere smile was very odd. She was polite, but in a very disingenuous way. Like stepford wivey or she has to get low key baked to muster up the energy to come to work. She went theough the motions, but like she was dead inside. I feel for her. I know that seems personal, but it was such a weird vibe.
Place was EMPTY for the 30 minutes I was there on a Friday evening which should have told me something.
Never going back.
Soft pita was good. I took it home to use with my store bought hummus. Kinda hard to screw...
Read moreFirst I'll state this I mainly went to this restaurant because of the ratings and it was my first time. I order the Lamb Gyro (I have eaten awesome Lamb Gyros from other restaurants). There Lamb Gyro was highly disgusting, it had a horrible vinegar base and sweetness that was just over powering. I went back in and long story he did not want to refunded my money. I communicated with in a calm manner and simply stated it is disgusting, and I want my money. He stated this is what you ordered, and I completely understood that so what I ordered should be delicious. He stated we don't do refunds. I simply said where does it state that in the policy. If I went to any other restaurants, I could get my money back. So what made them so special. I have received refunds and comps at high end restaurants, with no problem. (So he stated well il just give a refund I don't want to argue). They only one arguing was him. If you are the head or own a restaurant and you can not properly communicate or handled issues you should not be in the business of the service of people. Take a communications class on Interpersonal and...
