I recently had the pleasure of dining at The Dankery, and let me tell you, it was an absolute food lover's paradise! From the moment I stepped foot inside, I knew I was in for a treat.

My son has been going to this place for years in Durham but this was my first time going to the new Raleigh location. I had just landed from a very long trip to Denver and I was STARVING! Since we live near by my son suggested we stop and grab a plate. First of all. This is SOUL FOOD!!!! The spot is necessary, no overly done decorations, no excessive interactions with staff, no owner all up in the video…. You get my point. It’s a RESTAURANT! The vibe is so city. We ate at a little table outside—-mind you it’s 130am in Raleigh!! It was no chaos, the music was playing, the staff was staffing, and the customers were flowing. I had the wet garlic lemon wings with crab queso fries. I almost passed out at the first bite!! Crunchy, seasoned, juicy chicken and those crab queso fries belong in every single seafood spot on the East Coast — but you don’t hear me though! The fries are crispy, handcut, full of flavor in every single bite!! My plate was $30 and I’ll do it AGAIN! I will spend on good food. Ingredients were fresh, staff were quick and polite. I’ve been getting food here since it was a food truck. To see they they have 2 restaurants now one in Raleigh and Durham is great. Every time I go there I get the double tender tray with extra Thai chili sauce and light lettuce with steak queso fries the food is always made to order and hot and fresh, the quantity is great the price goes well with how much food you get. I also like the hours because you can get food late night and have plenty left over.
