They just opened a few weeks ago, and everything is good so far! The location off Lake Boone Trail is always good, so hopefully this new one will maintain the tradition and attract some new business with the campus crowd. Arepas are delicious and definitely something people should explore. The food is good and fresh, and the people are nice. This place just opened under Target, so it's hard to miss. The view is nice too since they have a large window facing Hillsborough Street!

Great food, great service! At this time (August 20, 2021) face masks are required inside. My son and I stopped on for lunch today. Although there was a line when we arrived, it moved quickly. Good selection of South American food. I got the Arepa with shredded chicken. It was very good. My son got a rice bowl, also with shredded chicken. Portion sizes are decent. They also have outside seating.

Delicious, fast, fresh food! We ordered the shredded chicken arepas and a custom bowl with brown rice, shredded chicken, black beans, corn, guacamole, sour cream, and cheese. Everything was so flavorful and filling, and the service was excellent. This is a great spot if you want a quick and delicious bite to eat!

I stop by the place on Tuesday around 7:50 pm and there no customer just 2 guys picking up online order and sound the guy on front he is stressed little bit figuring out the order and my turn come and I told him this my first time so I order 2 grilled steak arepas the way they comes so the ask to wait on the side and I’m the only customer so I did and after 4 mint they handle the food and I left I get to the car and I found out they forgot to put steak in the arepas so I came back and told the guy he said oh sorry and instead he took the sand and fixed it he put two cups off 2 ounces and handed me the meat and I left. So the meat look like broiled not grilled and I have no place to fixe the arepas . I’m Uber driver I would not recommend this place to no one plus I will share this...

By far the worst customer service in the USA. I really enjoyed the Guasaca on lake Boone trail in Raleigh but this Hillsborough street location is the absolute worst. On atleast 5 occasions, I stopped by hoping to get lunch. Only to be straight up ignored. I’m not asking to be treated like a king, just a simple acknowledgment of a customer waiting to order your product. If you’re busy, say that. If you’re about to get to me say that. Communication is key. But don’t have me in your business just standing around while it’s 6 staff members who literally saw me walk in yet didn’t Acknowledge that I’m a customer wanting to order. 0 stars....

Guasaca is great, a must-have any time you're in the area!

Their specialty is arepas, which is like a thick corn tortilla cut open to form a pocket. You can fill the pocket with all kinds of great ingredients, and the result is fantastic!

The format is similar to chipotle in that you determine what form factor (arepa, bowl, etc.) and protein you want, then add toppings or fillings. If you want something that combines well without much thought, their signature arepas are all delicious!

And of course if you like salsa, guacamole, or avocado, you have to try their namesake guasaca! It is delicious both on/in main courses as well...
