Such a beautiful garden tucked into a neighborhood with free street parking and no entrance free. So many types of roses that were blooming more than how pretty it was the lovely floral smell wafting in the air was extraordinary. It had rained heavily earlier in the week damaging many of the flowers or knocking the petals off the flowers and it was still stunning. We walked around for about an hour enjoying the flowers including butterfly weed, peonies and many other flowers. On the back side of the rose garden, there is a lovely outdoor theater that I’d love to go back to see an outdoor play. This is a treasure in Raleigh and highly recommend a visit when the flowers are in bloom. Would highly recommend a visit.

This part of my life is called " Stopping to smell the roses". The opportunity presented itself when I planned to take myself on a date for the evening to see The Color Purple at the Raleigh Little Theatre. The Rose Garden is located on the property and is a peaceful place to have lunch or take photos. A romantic date or proposal destination as well. The garden is located below the amphitheater. As soon as you arrive, you are instantly transported to an English garden. The promised land of peonies ! For those of you who don't know, pink roses are my favorite flower. This was pure bliss for me ! Be sure to spend time visiting while in the Oberlin Village area.

An absolutely great little spot to relax and take in the beautiful roses and short wooden/ stone pergola path. There are plenty of picnic tables and benches in the shade surrounding the rose garden. There’s a fair sized grassy area to one side it if you’d like to bring a picnic blanket as well. There are only two basic parking spots and two handicapped at the ground level. If you park above and around the park, keep in mind you’ll need to walk around to the parking area level or go down quite a few steps… I have not been able to find any bathrooms….Don’t forget to smell the roses. Some are beautifully, unbelievably fragrant!!

This garden is great year around. Yes, the best is seeing all the various colors of tulips and roses in bloom during spring, but there’s almost always some flowers even in late fall, and still color in the winter. I feel at peace whenever I go here- and it’s within a few blocks of Hillsborough Street on NCSU main campus- perfect spot for a stressed college student like me to decompress. Been going here since I was a child and went to Raleigh Little Theater- my first memory of this place was my dad taking me to the garden that I saw in the window and I felt just like Mary in the Secret Garden. To this day I still see Dads taking their daughters here and it’s the most wholesome thing to witness. It’s also got a ton of places to sit with someone- you can end up talking for hours on end with the right person while...

I hate to rave about this place because it is a nice quiet spot in a neighborhood. My dog really loves it here. The roses are the main attraction, laid out in rows in the middle of a large yard, downhill from the street parking. Woodland plantings around the edge hold plenty of smells for your dog, but also some beautiful flowers when the roses aren't in bloom. Think daffodils, Lenten roses and camilas. This is to the side of Raleigh Little Theater, and you can walk along the amphitheatre too. There are plenty of benches to sit and enjoy the quiet. I've seen activities for kids, for example following the pages of a story through the garden. Highly recommend, but...
