I love the food, but the service here is spotty at best. The other locations are great, so I'm not sure what's up with this one. I can't order to-go here anymore because my order has been messed up 3 times. I know now to check it before I leave, but it wastes time. The other night was the last time. I ordered on the phone and made sure to repeat the order twice. When I went in, I checked the receipt and it was wrong. I told them so they could fix it before finishing the order. The two young men behind the counter seemed like they were new and had no idea what they were doing. I waited 30 minutes and then a young woman came out of the kitchen to tell me that there wasn't any bacon for one of the (two) sandwiches I had ordered well over a half hour ago (I was quoted 15 minutes when I called). I asked for a refund which she gave me, but she said she wasn't authorized to do credit card refunds, so she had to give me cash. She told me there wouldn't be bacon for my other sandwich either, which I told her was fine since I specifically ordered it without bacon and had told them several times in order to be sure. Apparently that was noted nowhere on the order. I honestly don't blame these young (probably like 15 year old) kids. Who scheduled them like this? I could share more about what a disaster it was, not just for me but for other people I noticed in the restaurant. Not a good look, Village Deli. ...

My fiance and I went there for dinner. The menu sounds like the food will be great and the look and feel of the place seems nice and welcoming but the food was horrible. I was hungry so I got 8 wings and a burger. My fiance had a California chicken salad sandwich on wheat bread.

My $12.50 wings claimed to be crispy and hot but when they arrived just by looking at them you could tell they were going to be bad. They were nothing more than just cheap baked wings that were most likely bought from Food Lion ( Its in the same Plaza they are in ). I would rather have Tyson Chicken Wings over these cheap small baked $12 wings.

My $12.50 Burger was flavorless but the lettuce was fresh... honestly that's all I could really taste / remember about that. I ordered a burger with Swiss cheese, lettuce, crispy onion strings and pickles. But the only thing I can remember about the burger was the lettuce...

My fiance had the $8.95 California chicken salad sandwich on wheat bread with $1.50 Roasted tomato vegetable soup she says that the sandwich was "Tasteless and thrown together also the ingredients that make a chicken salad sandwich were just placed on top and not inside so most just fell right out of it" and the soup was just "lumpy and tasteless"

So as you can see we spent about $37 with tax on this meal, with no alcohol, and to say we were disappointed would be an...

Let me start off by saying this place has amazing food! My husband and I eat here at least once a week. I would like to share an experience I had today that nearly sent me home in tears. I ordered the turkey sub sandwich to-go and when I got my order and walked out of the building, I felt the bottom of the bag and realized it wasn’t a sub sandwich. I went back inside, apologized for being a bother (I don’t eat the deli turkey sandwich because it has this awful vidalia onion dressing on it), and asked if they could make me the sub sandwich that I ordered. I even offered to pay the difference if the sub sandwich cost more but was assured all was well. Because of how close the kitchen is to the dinning room, I overheard the kitchen staff talking about me when they were asked to make the sub sandwich. “She can’t just CHANGE HER MIND about what sandwich she wants…” This hurt because I was trying to be very understanding. The turkey sub gets confused for the deli turkey sandwich about half the time in my experience so this wasn’t my first experience having to ask for a correction. I think the main issue is that the menu is way too big and the staff isn’t properly trained on the differences between the sandwiches. It doesn’t take away from the great quality and generally friendly environment so I’ll be back, just hoping for some...

I happened upon this dining spot while solo-adventuring in Raleigh. When I saw the overall good reviews & perused the menu beforehand, I knew I just had to try the Fried Green Tomato BLT with some sweet potato fries. That sounded like the perfect southern twist of a traditional BLT, & I wasn’t disappointed! The ciabatta bread was perfect to prevent palate scratching (a danger of BLTs), & the pimiento cheese oozed out with each bite. Certainly not the healthiest item on the menu— I could feel my arteries clogging with each morsel— but when in Raleigh, right? It was so filling, I took half of it back to my hotel for breakfast the next day (and it was indeed still tasty even cold). Service was friendly & fast. Only wish I had saved some room for dessert, as the options looked scrumptious.

Sauerkraut away from home hidden under rye with a comforter of cheese keeping the corned beef cozy through to crepsculence. Tap into a place, be it within yourself or on Wycliff road. Breath. Know you are you and so too, soon, will be the sandwich. 10 square feet of wheat yeilds the cup and a half of flour used to make a roughly 1 pound loaf of bread from which your sandwich and now you are constructed. You are thousands of sandwiches, the hours of the people who harvest their ingredients, the sun which feeds you with its light and will reclaim that same energy with its inevitable expansion. The fries could've had more salt.

This was my first time ordering from this deli & based on the reviews, I placed an Uber Eats order for the Caesar Salad with Grilled Salmon added. I received what you see in the photo: Caesar Salad w/Grilled Salmon, with the middle third colored dark brown, prompting food safety concerns. I've never seen salmon that looked like this & didn't feel comfortable eating it & threw it away. Unfortunately, Uber Eats would not refund the meal, so that was about $14 wasted. Apparently, food safety and food quality weren't a priority for my order and/or my business wasn't wanted. Message received.
