Overall Score: 5.9/10 – A decent spot for fresh donuts, offering a spacious environment and made-to-order treats.
Atmosphere and Service: 5.8/10 – The location is very spacious, almost excessively so, which can make it feel a bit empty. Despite not being busy, the tables were dirty, which detracted from the overall experience, especially considering there were plenty of workers on hand. The donut menu was slightly difficult to navigate, though the option of a self-serve machine might make it easier for some customers.
Assortment of Donuts: 6.2/10 – The made-to-order preparation ensures freshness, with the donuts arriving warm, which added to their appeal. The variety of toppings and designs makes for a fun and customizable experience, though the donuts themselves are fairly basic underneath. It did take some time to prepare a dozen, so ordering ahead might be a better option for larger orders. The price was very reasonable, making the experience worth it for fresh,...
Read moreUpdate after speaking with Ryan I found out that the shipment of bacon they got from the distributor was just a not up to par shipment. Since that visit I have went back multiple times and I can say 100000000% better the staff are awesome and the managers are extremely nice. I have since changed my rating as it has not disappointed me since that time.
My family and I, always enjoy Duck Donuts. Our main location is Cary. However the new one at Lake Boone Trail just opened. We go here when we are surprising my wife and co-workers with donuts at work. However the toppings on the donuts are extremely lacking. The worst was the maple bacon donut. The glaze was extremely clumpy and the bacon was extremely raw looking. Disappointed as I get these donuts at the Cary location and it is crispy bacon. Have to make sure things are done right. Thursday August 29, 2024 time was 12:42pm and they failed in the proper...
Read moreThe donuts are good! Not the best I've ever had, but a nice treat. I actually think they would be better if they weren't warm when you get them because the icing melts and it's really messy and gooey. I prefer a more solid icing, but that's just me. The frappe was good, but they put a sticker right over the straw hole which is crazy annoying cause you can't take it off and it's also sticky and just frustrating to deal with.
For a donut shop, I think they should offer more types of coffee- various flavor (I'm used to 50+) options for lattes would be expected anywhere on the west coast, and the lack of coffee variety here on the East Coast is crazy and really disappointing when you see 2-3 options and that's it. Step it up!
But yes, good donuts and I'd go back. It's worth warning that if you don't eat these right away, they do get soggy later, depending on the flavor and drizzle. So...
