Wang's Kitchen — Restaurant in Raleigh

This is the best chinese restaurant in the area. I’ve come to this location for the past 15-20 years because their food is great, and the customer service matches. Fried rice always has chinese roots and veggies like onions, which a lot of other places just give you yellow rice and call it fried rice. Lunch special portions are nice. The house special fried rice never disappoints. Beef broccoli always has other veggies as well. I drive all the way from Knightdale and would also drive from Pool rd when I lived there because I’ve tried other places and I’m always disappointed bc of their food mainly but service is also poor. They are not stingy about sauces you need to compliment your food. They are always prompt, cordial and their food is the best in the area with reasonable prices. I recommend everyone drive a bit further if you have to, but you’ll be satisfied with their customer service and delicious food. This place has been there a while so don’t expect for the dinning area to be like a 5 star restaurant but it is spacious and you could definitely sit and eat there when the pandemic was not happening. Right now they only have take out but you can call ahead and have it ready...

This was my first time here. I ordered online, however, there was no indication that there were two separate lines, one to order and another to pick up, so I waited in the wrong line for about 5 minutes until I noticed others walking up and picking up their orders. There was only one person running the front and he was very nice. The restaurant was fairly clean but did have a sewerage odor in the air. I got the combo with General Tso's chicken and egg roll. I also got some hot and sour soup.

The egg roll was not good...just tasted sort of flat. Like reheated food, not fresh. I like it when the chicken has plenty of sauce to mix in with the rice, this did not have that. Also it just lacked sufficient flavor. The soup was actually the best part of the meal... just the right level of hot spiciness for me and good flavor.

If not for the soup I would give two stars.

Sadly I have yet to find a good Chinese takeout restaurant...
