So apparently if you order online for pickup, and they GIVE YOUR FOOD TO SOMEONE ELSE, it's your responsibility to fix it.
Order online, wife went to pick it up, was informed that the DoorDash person already picked it up. Yeah, my order wasn't DoorDash. Manager (if we can call someone that incompetent a manager) informed my wife that we need to call customer service to get them to resubmit the order.
Wife came home, told me of the issue, I tried to look up a phone number on their website, there wasn't any number, so I used the chat system and was informed that I would get a response back via e-mail within 24 to 48 hours....Doesn't help me now with a hungry family.
So I had the wife go to Raising Cane's instead, while I drove to Popeye's and see what the hell was going on. Was informed the manager that this has happened before and that they can't do anything about it since they did nothing wrong. I beg to differ as they GAVE MY FOOD TO SOMEONE ELSE! I told them maybe they should check better for an order than to just use name since there are a lot of common names! Again, she told me to call customer service, and I told her that there is no number on the website. She informed me it was 1-800-POPEYES. Well, it's not 1-800-POPEYES since that number kept coming up as busy; I had to Google it and it's actually 1-877-POPEYES. Informed them of the issue, was issued a refund, doesn't help that they wasted my time and my wife's time and that we ended up with no food from them. Corporate and/or the store owner never bothered to get back to me either after I express the horrible service I received, guess the saying is right, the employees are a reflection of their boss.
With a Dave's Hot Chicken a mile away, Cains across a street, and a Chick-Fil-A planning on also opening across the street, I don't see how this level of customer service is going to fly, nor how this place will compete. I for one, will not be going back to...
Read moreWe happened to go on the day they brought back the popular chicken sandwich. I really wish that excused the atrociously terrible experience we had. The entire restaurant (dining room and behind the counter) was disgusting. There was food and trash all over the floor - and I mean ALL over. Trash cans were over flowing. Nobody greeted us or even made eye contact with us the entire time. When we tried to order the boneless wings that were featured on their promotional monitor they claimed that they don't offer boneless wings and they don't know why corporate has them on the monitor. We started our order by asking the wait time for the chicken sandwich and were told 20-25 minutes. As people were being called up to get their food the employees were asking everyone what side dishes they ordered because they apparently had no way to keep track of that. The dining room was full but nobody was eating because there was no food ready. Finally, after everyone else was served and 45 minutes had passed we complained and were told "oh, you're next" and then started making our food. When they asked what sides we had ordered they informed us that they no longer had the sides we wanted. The staff was unfriendly. The entire restaurant was unclean. When we received our food there was someone else's old food still stuck to the paper liner on the tray. We had to open the cupboard under the drink fountain to find our own lids because everything was out of stock. Apparently someone did the same with straws because there was just a big plastic bag of them sitting on a nasty dirty counter. The pictures attached really don't do justice to how filthy the place was.
Basically, the sandwich tasted fine but I'll never eat it again because you would have to pay me to go back there. I'd rather eat at the gas station...
Read moreOMG - I know there is inflation, but the price hike was insane compared to the last time I went to a Popeyes. A side of popcorn shrimp plus a 5-piece strips meal was over $30.
The quality of the food was horrible. Even if this had been a $15 meal like it was not-all-that-long-ago, I would have been unhappy getting chicken that seemed to have been on the warmer-plate for a couple of hours based on texture.
Service was below expectations. No cocktail sauce with popcorn shrimp? Yeah, I admit that I forgot to ASK for it while ordering at the drive through. But it usually is asked by the staff - or just given even if not asked for. And see above about the quality of the chicken - which in this case appears to be a management problem and a customer service problem.
This was not a $30 worth of value meal. The price tag was a shock; the customer service sucked; and the food obviously had been sitting out for God-only-knows-how-long.
I know a decent portion of the price hike is Gavin Newsom's fault. But regardless of the justification, when you are charging that much for fast food, you better have your customer service together. At least give me fresh food and the dipping sauce.
Even though this is around the corner from my office, I will not be back here anytime soon. There are a LOT of other options that are nearby that are cheaper by 50% for a comparable size order with better customer service and quality food. I was just craving chicken and shrimp and hadn't done Popeyes in several months. Maybe at other locations when I am on the road, but THIS place is stricken from consideration for when I want to grab a quick bite while I am...
