I was there yesterday August 19th before going there I called them to place an order for four chicken kabobs two lamb kabobs and two Bolanis with Gandana one spicy one not well done crispy what happened was the guy told me it's a big order that I should pay through the phone I said but I'm paying cash it's a pickup order he saying well we're not going to place the order until you come pay for it first which is outrageous he said if it's one or two orders then we'll accept that I told the guy wait a minute you're willing to accept 10 to $20 but you're not accepting $100 order which is absurd anyhow I go there sure enough I ask who did I speak to on the phone and I spoke to the gentleman in the front counter I says why don't you take what he says because in the past people ordered and you never picked up I said you run a business that's a risk that you take and then you write it off on your taxes at the end of the year it's a tax write-off if people do that however that's just something you have to accept her and business there are going to be losses and then he tells me actually the reason why he he didn't want to take my order partly because I spoke English to him on the phone I said wait a minute what does language have to do anything first of all you guys don't even know how to speak English this is the United States of America English is the language here if you go to India they speak Hindi if you go to Pakistan they speak or do if you go to China they speak Chinese we live in the United States so we speak English and he actually told me this and that says what his language have to do with placing an order I mean if you don't know how to speak English get somebody that knows how to you losing a lot of business by not having that and he tells me that well people call and they don't pick up and goes on and on and on and on and on I come to figure out this place is run by people from the eastern part of Afghanistan which are push Tunes racist as hell racist towards other languages including his own original Dari language from Afghanistan it's people like this that bring Afghanistan culture and customs into United States and they try to run their businesses it's not going to work here keep your Afghan culture in Afghanistan you don't do business like this in the United States you will fail then again he's only accommodating one type of people his own kind or the people that just came freshly from Afghanistan and don't know any better that's all he serves which is a big No-No in business and business you have to cater to everybody you don't want just one person's money you want everybody's money. To add the icing on top I go to my fiances house and look at this nothing but hot pepper way too much! I did say spicy but didn't say fire! Don't go here service is the worst and they will do things...
Read moreIt is a very interesting shop. It has almost everything basic or essential you'd miss from home in Afghanistan. The items range from a wide range of natural spices and herbs to Turkish type tea sets to manual airing BBQs (see pics). It is a foods store that has a meatshop, a bakery and a restaurant with quick middle-eastern meals.
Restaurant: 5 Stars I had the lamb gyros and it was great. Very natural flavors very fresh tomatoes and a good tzatziki sauce that is lighter than I am familiar with but it is most likely more original. Servings are perfect for a meal and not feel guilty about eating too much or having to take some or waste.
Bakery: 5 Stars SUPER Popular They only bake Naan Bread, but by the hundreds.
Butchershop:? Stars They had no more lamb. They seem to run out of lamb quickly. They have a limited amount of meats so it is very fresh. You do need to get the 411 from the happy butcher on when they get the meat delivery.
Store: 3 Stars The store could be cleaner and better organized. It seems the owners are not concerned about aesthetics or improving the quality of its customer's shopping experience and that it is a great SHAME.
Men and women with children go there. Aside from the variety of sugar items I did not see any area dedicated to children that is not diapers etc. No toys or dolls.
Fabulous honey selection from California and I was so happily surprised to find honey comb which I bought. It is from Hungary packed in MI.
The bathrooms also leave a lot to be desired. You can tell there's s total disconnect between owners or managers and their clientele. The way the store looks from the moment you walk in, the place is nothing to write home about. Once you know what they offer you come get it and leave.
Yes I will go back to get lamb from the young friendly butcher who said: "God Bless...
Read moreThis place has horrible customer service and very disrespectful employees. By seeing the reviews on here, I can see that MANY people can agree. I also wish I could put ZERO stars. As there is an upcoming protest this weekend, my family and I called to see if they have any Afghan flags. However, everyone should know that they laughed out loud, made fun, and said: "What makes you think that we could carry the Afghan flag?" and we said that obviously because it's an Afghan store. They continued and said: "Which flag do you want? The Talib flag?" and "We don't even carry the American flag and you want the Afghan flag?". They laughed out loud again and hung up the phone on us. It's people like this who are insensitive during serious situations, that all Afghan families are affected by, who helped bring our country to this point. This store should be ashamed and should pay more attention to who they hire because clearly they haven't been trained well in customer...
