The Sandwich Spot — Restaurant in Rancho Cordova

If you love DRAMA this is the place to work! I have been with the sandwich spot for a year now I just transferred to the mather field location about 4 months ago in march prior to working at the kiefer location for about 8 months and left there due to harassment but I must say this location is even WORSE. The owner ROBERT DAM is extremely fake and very unprofessional. In the interview process he seemed so chill and laid back but the second you start working for him he will make every day a living hell. Everyday he finds something new to complain about. He only points out the bad never the good. He has very high standards and expects you to be perfect. Its like we aren't able to make any mistakes or he will make you feel stupid for it. He will make you feel so low about yourself and the way you do things. He will literally embarrass you right in front of his customers and doesn't realize that his "jokes" can actually be insulting and rude. And incase a lot of you are wondering we are not required to wear gloves unless we have long or painted finger nails. He made 3 of his employees cry and even resulted into 2 of them quitting. He gossips about his employees to other employees and even told an employees MOTHER that myself and 2 other of my co workers aren't gonna go anywhere in life and we have no ambition. He clearly does not care about his employees what so ever. We have ONE male employee (which he favors out of everyone) for some odd reason he only hires female employees. He constantly tells us that if we don't wanna be there let him know so he can replace us. He got upset with me because I went to my locker to grab my belongings 5 minutes before my shift was over which I never planned on leaving yet and he got highly upset with me and sent me home and didn't even bother to put me on the schedule the following 2 weeks after that just to be petty. Now its been a month since he put me on the schedule which technically I am still employed here because he has not officially fired me. I tried contacting him multiple times to ask him what's going on or if I even still have a job here and no response. I hate to talk so down on a work place but its nothing but true facts and I believe people should really see the owners true colors because let me tell you he sure does know how to put on a good act for his customers just to get their money and business. Never have I EVER worked for an employer that was so unprofessional and full of nothing but DRAMA. Which is sad because despite the horrible management i actually loved my job. i hope that many of you reading this will take it in consideration or better yet take your business elsewhere because its not worth it and the owner clearly doesn't know how to run this place or even keep his employees. You will see new faces every other week. And if your thinking about working here DON'T because I promise you...

This place was a nightmare to work at! The owner is very welcoming during the interview process but even then. You are given no guidelines or rules or anything you are just expected to know everything on your first day. I had never worked with food prior to this job so this was all foreign to me. I started noticing my boss' attitude take a full 180 and he completely made me feel terrible if i messed up on anything. I never got any proper training from him because he was hardly ever there and even when he was, he had me come in right before our rush hour so there was no time to properly train me. For 4 weeks, he kept pushing off giving me my paperwork to become an official employee because He had no real intention to keep me. He only pointed out my negatives, he tried to turn my mom against me making me sound like i was such a terrible employee, compared me to other workers and went as far as to threaten to fire me after only 2 weeks because of lack of speed even tho I expressed I never worked with food and that I struggled trying to memorize 24 sandwiches in a week because that's all he gave me. My last straw was when i heard about how badly he talked about me to other employees at his store and even employers to other stores i tried to transfer to. Even some of his employees downed me before and even after i resigned from my job. And even to his customers. You can tell how bad of a boss he is if u see new employees every other week. Hes not genuinely nice to them because thats who he is, he just wants your money. I wouldnt recommend this place to anyone, they're super unprofessional and a headache...

The owner is super fake. His customer service is just to get your money. He is very disrespectful to his women employees, to the point he even told me they are not going anywhere in life and they have no ambition. He hired my daughter and verbally and mentally abused her the entire time. She came home everyday stressed out wondering what she did wrong. He found something to complain about everyday. When she finnally quit after 3 weeks he said good and interfered with other sandwich spots hiring her. He even lied and told her the sandwich spot she got hired at changed their mind. He tried to keep her from talking to the owner to see why. Needless to say she found out he was lying and has been working at the one on Elsie ever since. She is so much happier there. Beware do not work here.....especially women, he is a chauvinistic $#!%& u know the rest. Never again will I be a consumer at this store. If I could rate him a negative...
