Stopped at Micks recently because of its location, seemed convenient and a decent place to get a drink and a meal.
So many things went wrong – first of all it was fairly noisy in there, somehow the sound projects all over the place and it didn’t feel very comfortable. I started with a martini, which came without olives in it – definitely a no-no.
We ordered the crab dip appetizer which came extremely quickly – it didn’t taste fishy, but there was way, way too much cheese in it – it was a gooey, cheesy mess. There wasn’t enough flat bread to eat it all – and it was SO overly salty we could hardly eat it, it was puckering our lips, the salt really ruined it – plus it was served in a bread bowl that was huge as well – there was enough here to feed an entire family!
Second martini ordered – no olives…lol
Our dinners came as soon as the appetizer was sat down, we had all these plates and food on the table at the same time, and it was ridiculous. I said something to the waitress about having all the food come out at one time and she was oblivious to what I was saying, she just said they were moving very quickly that night.
My date ordered a salad – and they served it to her in a HUGE serving bowl, enough to feed an entire family of 4 – it was really embarrassing, we had to use one of our other dishes to place a reasonable amount of salad on a plate, it was terribly embarrassing to have an entire serving bowl placed in front of you.
Third martini ordered – this time I said something to the waitress about the olives – and the next drink came with like 10 olives dumped into it! – lol, this place was hilarious
I had the shepherd’s pie, which all things considered wasn’t horrible. The one thing I know for sure is that they used a frozen vegetable medley in it, which was disappointing. I think that if you are going to use something frozen, don’t use something that is obviously frozen and easily identifiable – I mean come on…
It was Valentine’s day – what a night, we finished with the chocolate lava cake which was drown in Hershey’s syrup, it was so cloyingly sweet it was hardly edible. Micks was certainly...
Read moreMy husband and I had our after party at this bar. We previously went to the bar to have dinner and see if there was a good selection of beer and food. The food was great and the beer was an ample amount that our friends would love. They told us to call a week before the wedding to make sure that they had enough bartenders on. We did. They said thank you because there was another wedding coming. We told them it would be at least 60 people who were staying at the hotel and going to be there. When we showed up there were two bar tenders. Personally in a wedding dress I drank two beers that night and could not get served. I watched a person walk up and offer to buy a round for the whole bar with a card out and the bartender walked away from them. There were so many people that left the bar that night because they did not give any service to them. They asked for drinks multiple times that they needed drinks and they would still not serve them. I understand that there were a lot of people at the bar. They were contacted and told but there was not anyone who wanted to provide any customer service at that point. Very disappointed that I could not spend time with our guests because they left after asked for drinks multiple times and they were not served, therefore they left. There were only a few people at the wedding that needed to go home but they did not cut a single person off they just didn’t serve anyone. Even people who drove and wanted to drink there couldn’t be served. I’m sad we picked this bar because it had so much potential and I trusted them to provide the service we needed but they...
Read moreI called to check if there was a wait time and there was not so we came here to eat as everyone was really hungry and we were on our way back home from homecoming. We were sat immediately at a nice booth and it was fairly empty so we thought we would order and get our food at a decent time. Everyone was nice, but it was nearly 50 minutes for our appetizers (half pound boneless wings-delicious, cup French onion soup-not properly made (we were compt), house salad-delicious) to come out. The children's burger kept being asked for as well and the server would say, it'll come with the rest of the meals, but she brought out a basket of fries we didn't order to hold them over. We were charged for the basket of fries we didn't order. When the main dishes finally came out 15-20 minutes after, the chicken cheesesteak was amazing but the chips on the side looked like they threw the end of two chip bags on my plate-and they were stale; the ribeye was burnt, not medium (we were compt), the chicken on the chicken cranberry salad was overcooked, dry, and tough (we were compt), and the children's burger didn't come out with the rest of the food. It was stated it had been "dropped" and had to be remade. When it came out a few minutes later with piping hot fries, we didn't expect it would be raw (we were compt). My sister and boyfriend were ready to leave, nothing more after...
