We ordered gyros as a walk-in to go order. The gyros were decent, but nothing too special about them. I would order them from here again if the service wasn't so poorly handled. When we came in, there were only two tables with customers, other than that the place was empty. I asked to order our food to take home. The person at the register told us to wait outside for our order. That was fine, but she said it a little on the mean side, as if she was upset we were not dining at the restaurant. I dismissed the attitude and went outside to my car to wait. While we were waiting, my daughter asked if we could add drinks to the order. So we went back inside to choose drinks. The women at the register scoffed at us and asked if we were cold. I said I just wanted to get some beverages to add to order. She then asked us to go back outside with our drinks. However, our food was finished before we could get to the door. It wasn't a terrible experience, but I was a bit put off by how insistent they were on us not being inside the restaurant. They also put tomatoes on my boyfriend's gyro when he had asked for "no tomatoes." Not a big deal, but the food wasn't that cheap, and the attitudes of the people working just added to our frustrations. As far as the atmosphere goes, it was decorated nicely with lots of knickknacks and a variety of jarred items one could purchase. It was the service that made the atmosphere only three stars. It took about twenty minutes for our sandwiches to be prepared, which I would say is about a little less than average for such a small order....
Read moreI am giving this place two stars because of the owner and the way he tried to intimidate me when I had the audacity to complain about the galaktoboureko I bought. They make a nice gyro, and they historically have offered good galaktoboureko. I was unsatisfied with the galaktoboureko I purchased today; the custard was not yellow, it was mostly phyllo dough, and it was laden with too much honey. I called and asked for a refund or a fresher piece. I was told they use a new vendor, nothing is wrong with the piece I had and to microwave it. After telling them I was not going to do that, they said I can come get a refund. When I arrived for my refund, the manager told me to wait a second. She then called the owner over, he picked up the galaktoboureko and made sure I watched him throw it in the garbage in an exaggerated fashion (lifting it high and letting it drop), and then asked the manager, "where's his money." I was given my money, and I left. A decent owner would have bent over backwards to apologize for the galaktoboureko I was given and offer me another piece. That would have made me purchase from him again. Not now. ...
Read moreRecently moved to the area and have been ordering gyros from here atleast 1x per week. The gyros are amazing! The flavor, freshness of the tomatoes, cucumber, the meat, the tzatziki sauce & generous serving. Staff has been friendly too! My favorite local restaurant!
Edit: I've gone here many times and has been pleasant experience until this evening 9/22. I called 5:33 to place an order for a gyro and an older woman picked up. She answered "village gyro" I said "hi, I'd like to place an order for pickup". She said we closed at 5:30 and it's 5:33 and then hung up! (FYI your Google hours say 6pm). It's fine if they didn't want to take my order but the way that was handled was extremely rude! I've given this restaurant so much of my business and refered many locals there as well as recommended them on community Facebook pages. I'll think...
