Panera Bread — Restaurant in Raritan Township

This review is about their small delivery area and not about the food, service or appearance of the store. Outside of the delivery zone issue I give it 5 starts but I cannot give it 5 overall due to this lapse in their app and website. The app and website claim a 3 mile delivery zone. According to Goggle Maps I live 2.96 miles away but I still cannot get food delivered here. If I order food as a catering order (thus ordering extra food and paying more money) they deliver. Now Flemington and its surroundings are rural so within its 3 miles are farms, highways and parking lots. It does not make sense to limit the delivery zone to 3 miles. The store should be frustrated as well because surely having a slightly expanded delivery zone (say 5 miles) would very likely increase sales at this location but corporate doesn't seem to care. I have tried to get my address (which is technically within 3 miles) added to the safe delivery area but it has not worked. We ordered broccoli and cheddar soup. Two bowls and two pieces of bread and two cups of coffee. One of the two bowls was severely watered down. This had to be deliberate. I've eaten at the Flemington Panera on multiple occasions and more often than not I've been disappointed with either food or service. First, prices have sky rocketed, if you buy a pick two plus drink, its almost $10. Ten dollars for a skimpy half a sandwich a small soup and fountain soda? And the half sandwich is barely a half by most deli standards. At my local deli I would get a 6" sub and a drink for way less money and leave full, not hungry.

The Flemington Panera is always dirty. I've never seen anyone come around to wipe down or clean tables. Who wants to sit down to eat at a dirty table? Gross. Do they ever sweep the floor during the day?

There is not enough staff. I've gone in during busy times and there is just one person taking orders, a long line of customers waiting. Why? Because they're too cheap to pay enough staff to be there.

I have eaten at other Panera locations and none of them had the issues above, which leads me to believe that the Flemington Panera is...
