Harlow's Diner — Restaurant in Rathdrum

My fiancé and I had breakfast there and found the service friendly and quick. Unfortunately, the coffee was weak as could be, but server did keep it topped-off. I ordered the country fried steak and eggs which was a huge portion and seasoned really well. My fiancé had biscuits and gravy with eggs which was also a large portion and very tasty though they did go a bit overboard with the cheese. The prices are reasonable especially for what you get. The atmosphere leaves a lot to be desired, however. Though it seems clean, the high ceilings and entire place is painted gray with ‘50’s diner furnishings’ in red and white and AWFUL, aggressive, glaring lighting. Bare bulbs visible in every single overly high watt bulb in the place. And I mean EVERYWHERE. I thought I was going to be interrogated at any moment. Ok, I jest. Just went to breakfast with my fiance. Ordered a ham and cheese omelet and it came out runny and not cooked. Asked to send it back and they brought the same omelet back out still not cooked properly and still runny. Then one of the other waitresses comes over and takes my plate with an attitude and says they will make it from scratch. With this attitude I decided to not eat as it was already a wait and I did not have a good feeling due to her attitude. I was typing a review on Facebook for this place and one of the employees is looking over my should and hollered thank you for that with total disrespect and starts running his mouth. We had a terrible experience there this morning. The service was extremely slow. We waited way too long for our food to come out and our meal came out cold. I ordered a strawberry pancake and the pancake was hard and the strawberries they put on it were straight from the refrigerator cold and mushy. The bacon was floppy. It just seemed like all of their ingredients were low quality. It’s a big open room so it was very loud and drafty. They didn’t have a hostess so the servers were trying to seat people and clean tables. There was constantly a row of food just sitting waiting to be delivered. They had a special on the board and when I tried to order it the waitress said they were sold out and it was only 9:30am. We won’t...
