Emmy Lou's Café — Restaurant in Rawlins Township

When staying in Galena's west area this is a good place to have breakfast. Oh sure, you can eat the cold grab and go, serve yourself, pre-packaged "free" breakfast at your motel but why not treat yourself to a hot fresh breakfast or lunch and a good cup of coffee and support a local business to boot. Emmy's ain't fancy but the locals go there, as was the case the Wednesday we were there, which is saying something. My corned beef hash could have been a bit crisper but it tasted great. Over easy eggs were perfectly "over easy". My wife enjoyed blueberry French toast with a side of ham and we each took advantage of the good cup of coffee. We had a great burger and wonderful homemade pie at Emmy Lou’s! Our waitress was so friendly and helpful! BUT… the lady boss came out and jumped all over her for talking to us too long. (we were the only 2 customers there) She also jumped all over the dishwasher and waitress again about something else. All of this where customers could see and hear. She was belligerent and so rude! They weren't overly busy, maybe 25% capacity? So, it was seat yourself. One of the waitresses acknowledged us right away, brought us menus and an emtpy coffee cup, then told us our waitress would be with us shortly. 20 minutes later, after we watched 2 other tables that came in after us get their menus and drinks, and one of them food, all the while without being waited on, I got up to walk out.
