First I want to say that oyes has been a staple for quality Chinese food for years in the reading community. So putting them on blast hurts. Yesterday evening around 430pm I placed a $104 order. Which might not be much for some but it’s plenty for our family. The food was old, soggy, the chicken was covered in fat and dark grey gross meat that you wouldn’t even feed your dogs on a bad day. Our order consisted of 2 orders of chicken fried rice. 2 order of general gaus, 1 chicken teriyaki stick and a pad Thai. The fried rice was so oily and mushy I couldn’t actually believed they thought it was acceptable to put out. The teriyaki stick was 3 piece of fat and dark meat if it was lucky. General gaus was different from any time I’ve ever ordered it from here which is usually my go to every single time. Never again. It was in some messed up sticky ketchup sauce. It was so disgusting I had to brush my teeth 3 times to rid the flavor. The pad Thai was missing pretty much all the ingredients. See photos. I called Oyed explained the situation. They didn’t offer my a refund but asked me to bring the food snack and they would make a decision later? What does that even mean? If you have an unsatisfactory product going out you offer a refund no questions asked. I worked in the restaurant industry for a long time. Can’t even believe I’m ripping on this place. Complete garbage. If I could report them further I would. See photos. Garbage, Dishonest management, terrible customer service, food was disgraceful. Negative 25 stars if I could give it a score that low.

Friends repetitively spoke about just how simply good this place has been for them. We were in the area and stopped in for the classic we knew. The decor is good in this newer strip mall -the service excellent with some dishes they create only there. I was blown away with how clean the food was and made us feel afterwords even after ordering a traditionally greasy and heavy sauced, mushroom egg foo young. Even the duck sauce i nostalgically ordered was lighter , better and perfect. A gluten free menu was done just as well with a salmon over rice noodles that was executed as well as we have had . We tried a sushi roll sans rice that was all the better without my go to rice. The place is an excellent better for you and delicious stop 0h,and they make perfect and large mai tais :) Try it but save us a seat :)

Coming in to Oye's Chinese Restaurant and bar, we were first greeted with a small koi puddle with waterfall in the entry way and a host stand that looked pretty grand, from what I remembered, on the left is a long bar that was stocked with TV's showing the game and on the right was a nice restaurant. They had pretty elegant decor, nice table setting (appetizer plate, knife, fork, folded cloth napkin, and disposable chopsticks, which to me seemed out of place when everything else was nicely done), good ambiance with low lighting, and the place looked clean and modern. There's a nice life-sized statue of one of the terra cotta army guys. My girlfriend and I got a table and sat down. The place was mostly filled on a Friday night, which was a good sign. A cleanly dressed server dropped off our menus. Another server came and asked us if we wanted any drinks. He actually startled me with how abrupt he was. I asked for water first and he quickly grabbed the drink menus from us. I don't think he realized we hadn't looked at it yet. Our first server brought our waters back with a large smile. I asked her if we could get the drink menu back to which she happily brought it back to us. I ordered the sizzling seafood platter with rice and some unagi sushi. My date ordered Vegetable chow foon and tomago sushi and a seaweed salad. The seaweed salad was good it had some red fish roe used for plating aesthetic, this would normally be fine but my date is a vegetarian. The unagi sushi was delicious! The tomago sushi, according to my date, was pretty good as well. Next, came our main courses, her noodles were good, nice crunchy stir-fried vegetables. My "sizzling" seafood platter, I regret, was not sizzling. I believed it was cooked and transferred to a cold cast iron plate. This was slightly disappointing, but the taste and flavor of the dish was delicious! There were large chucks of scallops and large shrimp with tails on, calamari, and snow peas, carrots, baby corn in a tasty brown sauce. I ate it happily. Overall, I think the bill came to around 50 dollars, my date had a glass of wine as well, so it was pretty reasonable pricing for the ambiance of the place. If the sizzling platter was actually sizzling and the abrupt server didn't take away our drinks menus so hastily I would have given them all five...

Food was good but service was T E R R I B L E!!! Had my husbands birthday here, 12 People total. Waiter took forever to order our drinks. Once ordered they came quick but he would never check if we needed more. I took the liberty to take everyone’s order to make things easier. Waiter took ALL orders from me at once and we only got had of our order. Yes, we were missing half of our order. The food we did get came about 5 or so minutes apart from eahcorher. So frustrating. We missed most of our sides: rice, chicken wings, chicken fingers and scallion pancakes. I am sorry, they ran out of the pancakes. Yet we were billed for it. When I told the waiter about our missing food... He said sorry, he had missed the order :/ then asked if we really still wanted it. Guess not but thanks anyway.

I guess I won’t be trying this place again. I was quite embarrassed by the issues. If service doesn’t matter to you, by all means,...
