We stopped in Redding at Applebee's for dinner when passing through town. There was a wait for a table so we asked to sit in the bar. At first everything seemed fine and our server was nice. I ordered a Chicken Caesar Salad and Mango Smoothie and Stephen had the new All You Can eat deal (fried shrimp, boneless wings, and riblets) and a milkshake. The food didn't stand out but it was okay. I think a miss was really with the service. Stephen ordered the wings and shrimp then got a second order of just shrimp asking for no fries. All well and good until our server told us they were going on break but other staff members would check on us. We also heard this mentioned to the bartender who seemed to be in a lead position. We sat and waited and waited...after 20-minutes had gone by with nobody asking us if we needed anything (Stephen wanted to try the riblets the third menu item of his meal). During our wait, a staff member sat at the table next to us for a break. I don't know their policy for crew and breaks but it seemed odd that an employee could sit at a table talking at a full voice to the other staff in the restaurant including at the bar. The customers came to enjoy their dinner not listen to the crew's other tasks and scheduling. Stephen was able to flag another waiter down and they talked to the bartender who then came to the table asking if we wanted anything else. We told them about the wait and asked for the check that was quickly brought over. We were given a discount for the inconvenience which was the right thing to do. Overall dining here was a disappointing and...
Read moreI recently had the unfortunate experience of visiting this establishment, and I must say, it was an absolute nightmare. The service I received was beyond terrible, and the food was disgustingly unappetizing. I can confidently say that I will never set foot in this place again.
Let's start with the service. It was abysmal. The staff seemed disinterested and unmotivated to assist customers. I had to wait an absurdly long time just to be acknowledged, and when I finally did get their attention, they were rude and unhelpful. Their lack of professionalism and courtesy was simply unacceptable.
Now, let's talk about the food. I can only describe it as super revolting. The dishes were incredibly greasy and oily, to the point where it overshadowed any semblance of flavor. It felt like I was eating a plate of oil with a hint of something that vaguely resembled food. The excessive oiliness ruined any chance of enjoying the meal. It was a complete culinary disaster.
Overall, this place was a disgrace. The appalling service and the repulsive food made it an experience I'd rather forget. I highly advise against wasting your time and money here. There are far better options available in the area that provide both quality food and exceptional service. Save yourself the disappointment and...
Read moreThis review reflects two different Applebee’s experience and their issue with temperature.
About a month ago we went to Applebee’s and our buffalo wings were COLD AND PINK when I cut into them. They were hardly even cooked at all. The manager was nice and gave us a a free entree and appetizer for the next visit. This was not the first time the buffalo wings have been undercook but this is the first time we pointed them out to an employee.
Tonight, we went to Applebee’s and had another bad experience with temperature but this time it wasn’t our food. The temperature outside was high 70’s....inside the restaurant was FREEZING. The table behind us complained about the temperature and so did we. I’m use to restaurants being a bit chilly but this was goosebumps cold. The waitress was so nice and said she asked the manager several times to turn it down. We waited a bit for our food, longer than an average restaurant wait.... I have napkins covering my arms because it’s so cold. She kept reassuring us he was going to turn down the Ac but if anything it got colder. Finally, we asked if our food cold be made to go and left.
In the car my fiancé said, I think I’m done with...
