On February 1st 2025, I went to the McDonald's on lake boulevard in Redding, CA. I was very understanding that since they were busy, the wait would be longer. I placed my order, 2 sausage mcmuffins and a fruit&maple oatmeal, on the kiosk because there wasn't anyone at the register. As I waited, I became worried that I wouldn't be able to eat my food since 8-10 minutes had passed. A couple minutes later a lady, with very short hair wearing a neon yellow jacket, handed me my food and apologized for the wait. I ate my 2 mcmuffins first, that took me 6 minutes, and then moved on to the oatmeal. After I stirred my oatmeal with the fruits provided and took a bite I noticed that my oatmeal was cold. I got up, threw everything else away while continuing to eat the oatmeal and went to the counter to inform the lady from before. I said to her, "I just wanted to let you know that my oatmeal was cold". I was not mad and I did not have an attitude when I spoke to her however, she said that it can't be possible because she filled the cup with hot water and handed it to me right away, she added in an apology, and asked if I wanted another oatmeal. I let her know I didn't want another one and reiterated that it was cold. She then said "Maybe you just didn't eat it fast enough", added "it could've been the fruit that made it cold because it came out of the fridge but I can make you another one, do you want me to make you another one?". I reminded her that "it was the oatmeal itself" that I didn't want another one, and then I left the Mcdonalds and will not go back. If the lady was a manager, I kindly ask that some type of training be implimented to better respond to paying customers and a reminder to let customers know if they are going to have to wait for a longer period of time as some customers may either be on their lunch break or on a time crunch.
Febuary 2 2025, I ordered at the McDonald's on churn creek in Redding, Ca. My 2 sausage egg burrito and a fruit&maple oatmeal order was filled in a timely manner, staff was friendly, and after I enjoyed my 2 burritos and went to eat the oatmeal, the oatmeal was still hot/warm!
Febuary 8 2025, I ordered 2 mcmuffins and an oatmeal at the McDonald's in Shasta lake. They were busy and I didn't mind the wait of about 8 minutes. After I received my food, I drove to Raley's on Lake Blvd, an 8 minute drive, and ate my oatmeal. My food, including the oatmeal was hot/warm and the staff...
Read moreSo I'll start with this, over the years McDonald's has gotten exponentially better at actually giving me the sauces I order with my meals. The atmosphere within the restaurant is generally very average but also very clean, which I appreciate. In terms of food, admittedly, McDonald's has always been a staple since childhood. So my opinion may be a bit bias, however, I think the majority of the food is pretty good. There isn't a place in the world with better French Fries, and you can never go wrong with adding a McFlurry to your order. But, the price hikes over the past few years for McDonald's is almost unforgivable. And my visit at least every couple of weeks out of convenience has turned into a once a month type of thing. The fact that I can buy and cook a meal that will last me a week for just a little bit more than the price of a Big Mac Meal is insane. Finally, the service provided is always a 50/50 flop, at least at the Lake Boulevard location. You'll either get the nicest and most accommodating staff you've ever spoken to at a fast food restaurant, or you'll get a group of individuals that couldn't care less. This can be discouraging because when asking questions about meals and allergies, you may simply get an answer from one of the staff that consists of "I dont know." When asking about food allergies, this answer is extremely concerning considering they can't even be bothered to go and ask another staff member. Altogether, I think McDonald's is a very tasty place to stop and grab some grub. However, the price of the food comparative to the portion you get, (AKA the bang for your buck), and quality of certain staff members can make the experience of eating there a very questionable one. That being said, if I could give 3 and a half stars I'd feel more comfortable with that...
Read moreSomething is definitely going on here, whether it be a shortage of staff or otherwise. Out of all Redding locations, it’s actually crazy how slow this place is - especially drive-thru service.
I have complete respect for the workers here as they’ve always been super kind and friendly, and apologetic for wait times. I definitely think the delays fall on management here. There have been times where I pull up to the window within an hour and a half of closing and would be sat at the speaker for 5-6 minutes. Another 10 minutes at the second window without anyone even greeting me. It’s blatantly obvious when a crew prioritizes closing over customers.
This is the closest location for me but I now often find myself going to the Churn Creek location. Even their rushes are handled much more quickly.
This restaurant is always kept clean though and as mentioned, staff is always kind and upbeat. They just seem to have extreme difficulty with rushes, as their drive-thru line will get so backed up that people who have ordered are sitting at the screen for another 5-6 minutes unable to move and let them take more orders.
Also, parking lot is incredibly tight and difficult. You’re better off parking closer to Dollar Tree. I would advise against using the front parking lot as their drive-thru line gets severely backed up quite often and you will get trapped...
