Had the ground beef chimichanga as well as the shredded beef chimichanga special combo. First of all, the burritos were MASSIVE so definitely meet value for money aspect. The ground beef was very well flavored, but was literally a pound of beef wrapped in a tortilla; no cheese, no rice, no beans, nothing else. The shredded beef had rice and beans, but lacking in flavor. The sauces were great. Muchas fries were 100% NOT worth it. They're just tater tots, saturated in grease, and overcooked. There was no special twist or seasoning that we could detect and if you're going to put the company name on a menu item you should really have a company twist.
Service was great as they were patient with a couple of first timers. It took a little longer than a typical drive thru, but it was borderline sit-down-restaurant quality presentation.
As we went through the drive thru I can't really speak to atmosphere so I kept it neutral. It is a fast-food chain, so atmosphere isn't really going to be up there anyway, but it was...
Read moreI ordered the double chili relleno plate and one taco with pork, one with chicken, and one with beef.
The chili rellenos were excellent and the plate had a lot of food on it. The rellenos and very tasty with cheese, fluffy egg, and an enchilada sauce on them. The rice was just a touch dry and lightly flavored. The beans were good although a few minorly undercooked; the risks of fast food though. The plate also includes guacamole, sour cream, salsa, and lettuce. It was a lot of food!
The tacos I had intended to take with me to lunch the next day for work. The shells didn’t survive though. So it became more of a triple taco salad by the next day. The chicken was a touch dry but had good flavor. The beef is quite good. The pork was the real winner out of those three altogether.
It helps if you set your expectations. It’s fast food Mexican. It’s not fine dining. It’s a good taco shop with a wide variety of options. I’m definitely eager to explore more...
Read moreThe worst burrito I have ever had is my life by far. Raw green peppers and onions, the beef was dry, burned, unchewable and had no favor other than burnt flavor. Even the tortilla was just cold from the bag and not even toasted. The rice and beans taste like cardboard and the rice was wayyy over cooked but also dry so it had the texture of Styrofoam. The fact that a Mexican restaurant like this exists in California is a joke. Do not go here if you ANY other option. If any Mexicans actually work here they would be ashamed of themselves. Edit: I have lived in Redding for 5 years, I own a home near here and I was happy to see another place open late to grab some food near me, until I tried it. My experience was genuine and honestly the positive reviews on this place look more suspicious than the negative ones. Nobody is out here sabotaging your reviews and blaming it on that is pathetic and obvious. Just do better and let the food do...
