Hefty's Coney Island — Restaurant in Redford Township

Been there 2 times now in the last 6 months. First time order was I waited on the phone over 6 minutes. They actually forgot about me on the phone AND my order was not correct AND they didn't give me my soup. 2nd time ordered a carry out on 8-22-22.They forgot my pop and I was almost back to work! Ordered The Texas Burger and they put pickles and tomato on it and the menu LOOKED AT ON LINE DOESN'T say it comes with those two things and they use SHREDDED CHEDDAR not sliced cheese! WHO DOES THAT?! THE ONLINE MENU VERBAGE AND THE RESTAURTANT MENU'S HAVE DIFFERECES WHICH SHOULD HAVE BEEN REVIEWED BEFORE APPROVING. THIS IS A PERFECT EXAMPLE OF WHY! I DON'T LOOK AT THE ON LINE MENU THINKING I NEED TO RE-LOOK AT THE IN HOUSE MENU TO SEE IF THERE ARE DISCREPENCIES. They should STATE that on the menu that's what they use so people can decide and know what to expect. It was terrible. I'm a foodie and I've decided as of today I will NEVER go back!! MY FIRST FOOD REVIEW EVER AND I FELT IT WAS VERY DESERVED!!! I WILL CONTINUE TO MY ORG FAVORITE THE HAMBURGER HUT. CONSISTANT, VALUABLE. GREAT CUSTOMER SERVICE AND DELICIOUS FOOD....

Hubby and I used to come to this restaurant years ago under different management, then we moved out of Michigan. When we moved back to Michigan, we wanted to revisit one of our fav places. When I called to see if they were opened, the person who answered the phone was so upbeat and friendly, I couldn’t wait to return. When we got to Hefty’s it was then that we found out that it was under new management and Tina was the new owner. She was the person that I spoke with over the phone. And in person, she is just as bubbly. We placed our breakfast order. Things that we had eaten in the past. We were offered banana nut bread with our coffee. OMG!! It was soooo good! Then I found out that it was homemade by Tina. Our breakfast was great. I had Hefty’s breakfast wrap made with egg whites and turkey sausage. Hubby had a veggie omelet, hash browns, turkey patties and blueberry pancakes. I understand that Tina has more help, but while we were there, she was the only person doing waitstaff. Every weekend like clockwork we get the same breakfast (we're boring lol), we normally carry out & occasionally we sit down. Hefty's is always clean, cheerful, & full of die-hard Hefty-loving regulars, including myself! I absolutely adore the waitresses who work here. After only a couple times coming in, they knew me by sight - knew what I was ordering & they always remember the tiny details that make you feel special. They also always make sure we have all of the things we need for the carryout, plus the food is absolutely excellent! We are breakfast people, we go out to breakfast WAY more than lunch or dinner combined, & Hefty's a has really good breakfast & amazing biscuits & graccvy (which counts a lot for us!)1 Don't jet me wrong, Hefty's has AMAZING lunch & dinners,, over the years we've eaten here for both. we just don't go out to eat as often for those.
