Uncle Howie's Pizza — Restaurant in Redlands

The Pizza is wonderful. Love it. It's our favorite pizza in Redlands, but we do have a few complaints as well. Soda is cheap. There should always be free refills, but they charge more for a refill than just buying a new fountain drink at McDonalds or a convenience store. So, we get our pizza to go for that reason. The sandwiches are dry and not very good. But my biggest complaint is from a few days ago. THEY made a mistake on our pizza. By the time my Dad picked up the pizza (they don't deliver), we were ravenous. While my Mom called to request a new pizza because of the mistaken topping (that I hate...pineapple) that was over the whole pizza instead of black olives, my grandma and Dad began eating some of it because they thought Uncle Howie's would not require we bring the pizza with the mistake back (like other pizza places do...If it's their mistake, they accept it and offer a free pizza, as it should be for good customer service). But they did require the pizza be returned so my Mom took back what was remaining. She apologized that some of our family ate some of the pizza because we didn't think they would require we bring it back. One of the employees-Mom didn't get the name but could describe her-spoke very rudely to my Mom and Dad about eating almost half of the pizza that THEY messed up! The employee said they should not have had to make us a new pizza the same size since we ate some of it! The crazy thing is, it was THEIR mistake! AND, what are they going to do with the pizza?! They are going to throw it away! So in what way did we wrong them?! Sadly, they lost a very good customer family. We brought friends and family to Uncle Howie's pizza EVERY TIME we got visitors. We will be finding a new pizza place now because of how that employee treated my Mom and...

So let Me preface this with letting you know that Uncle Howies is one of my favorite pizza places. Always an amazing experience. Today I took friends on a day of hiking. While on the hike I talked to them about Uncle Howies pizzas. A friend was sold and dying to try the Mexican Pizza. Tonight, after the hike, we arrived at Uncle Howies at 7:50. They close at 9. We walk up to the counter to order. There are happy patrons eating and finishing their pizzas. When this young boy behind the counter looks at me and as I start to relay my order, says :"we decided to close early." I stared dumbfounded. Looked at my watch and back at the young man. He follows up the flabbergasted silence with :"we aren't taking any more orders" and then walks away. Extremely disappointed. That's why 1 star tonight. My friend was so incensed by how the boys said it that he doesn't ever want to try it now. I hope this was isolated and they aren't doing this often...

This was my first time coming to this establishment and it was recommended by a friend who goes there all the time with her sons football team after their games. Today my coworkers and I decided to go and it by far had the most rudest people working there. The older lady was ringing us out and I guess because my friend was taking too long to order she told the girl with the red hair to finish us. The girl with the red hair was even worse, she didn't welcome us to the place, nor even introduce herself, she didn't smile or anything. Then after she forgot to give my friend her salad when my friend asked for it she rolled her eyes and said sure. The pizza I would definitely say was good, but the people who work there make it not even worth coming back. On top of that no one bothered to even clean up the cart that was sitting next to the trash can and was attracting gnats that we had to keep...
