We’ve been regulars at this restaurant and usually enjoy the food, but yesterday’s visit was extremely disappointing and unacceptable.
We ordered Apollo Fish, Mandi, and Gongura Mutton Biryani. While the Apollo Fish was passable, it was clear that the fish wasn’t fresh. Things went downhill from there.
The Mandi was a major letdown. The rice lacked freshness, and the fish and tandoori chicken served with it had an unpleasant, almost spoiled smell. When we raised this concern with the staff, they acknowledged the issue and offered to replace the chicken, but even the replacement had the same foul smell. The portion size was shockingly small and absolutely not worth the price.
The Gongura Mutton Biryani was equally bad — bland, no real flavor, and the rice again seemed old and stale. We ended up canceling the remaining orders.
Despite being very hungry, we left unsatisfied after spending $110 on what was honestly one of the worst meals we’ve had. We felt disgusted and disappointed, especially given our past positive experiences here.
I’m not sure what went wrong yesterday, but based on this visit, I would strongly advise others to avoid this place until they fix their food...
Read moreThe food came in questionable containers as if they bought frozen prepackaged indian food, warmed it up, then sold it as theirs. But the other half of the food came in to-go containers.
They didn’t offer a spice level option for the chicken dish and our grigo mouths couldn’t handle just fire hot with no flavor. We like spice but we prefer favorable spice. This was just hot for hot sake.
Is it edible? Yes. But the chicken comes with the bone in so it’s also a project.
Vegetarian options are plentiful which is nice but I still feel like I was tricked into buying prepackaged food sold at restaurant prices.
Will we go back? Unlikely. We like our old standby Indian place more and we know they are legit enough to at least hide the frozen food containers.
Or maybe this is expected for this place? I don’t know but the photos will show what I am talking about and my confusion as to the legitimacy of whether they actually cooked the food or bought it at the local Indian grocery store frozen section up the road...
