EDIT: I had to update this review to 5 stars (from 3) because... Read the response below. Sounds like a tough night, and clearly this place seriously cares about their customers. Ownership like that is rare, and should be supported. Original review below. This is a tough review to write, because the food is not bad, and the concept is pretty cool. The pizza is definitely in the style of cafeteria food pizza (very Americana), but it's probably the best version of that style of pizza you could find. My only gripe on the food itself is that the dough could be a bit more flavorful, but that's about it. However, this place has the absolute slowest service imaginable. I've only ever seen two people working here (maybe the couple of owners?) and they desperately need a third employee. You can't order ahead of time, and expect to wait 30-40 minutes after any order. Related, but their weekday hours are terrible. By closing at 7pm, you're basically ensuring that few will make it, so everyone comes on the weekends, and then they're totally overloaded. I ordered a dessert as we were finishing our food, and 35 minutes later I just had to tell them to cancel it, because it was never coming. Unfortunately, no refund because you pay when putting in the order. That's poor service no matter how you cut it.

Update 2/24/24 Zaucer is a place to grab some pizza that feels like home. This husband and wife duo continues to serve up amazing pizza, whether it's a packed house or just a few patrons when you get there before the rush. They always great us with a smile. In a time of declining quality of both service and product, they continue to deliver at the same level they always have. Update: we keep coming here, and our pizzas keep coming out perfect and so delicious! We absolutely LOVE this place. We try to come here every couple of weeks. My wife gets a gluten-free pizza, and I get an all meat pizza with alfredo sauce, and then I add jalapeños, black olives, gogonzola and pineapple. So tasty! I don't know where they get their pizza dough, but it is far superior to any other pizza place. You know the saying "you get what you pay for" well here the quality, flavors and atmosphere is what you get here at reasonable prices. Ingredients are fresh, the atmosphere brings me back to my childhood, and they have free arcade games!!!!

We tried Zaucer based on Google reviews. We do not agree with those reviews. The cheese bread was good however it came out with marina in a package. Not homemade... Then came the pizza. It was Super greasy. And burnt toppings (see pics) Too many toppings on the thinner crust. The pizza reminded me of a wanna be MOD pizza. I could spend $40 somewhere else and have good food. The lady making the pizza crust did not wear gloves which is gross. They were nice people. Our kid liked the arcade games by the bathrooms. However, I wouldn't recommend this spot. Edit: The owner can respond with how no gloves is not gross. I disagree. Gloves are cheap. Wear them. I updated the cost as requested. $15.50 for a small pizza that cost $3.00 to make is still a lot of money. MOD is better, and they started in 2008 and they are growing locations! You still have 1! My opinion is not slander; it is my experience at your restaurant. Accept this as constructive criticism.

If you haven't tried Zaucer then you're missing out on some of the best pizza! My mom and I drove 40 miles just to get it, and it's well worth the drive! They're my #1 favorite pizza place to go to when I'm in Redmond. The owners are so sooo sweet, and caring. You can taste the warmth and love that they place into every pizza.

I had the absolute pleasure of going to them for my birthday this past Monday to order pizzas for my party. My personal favorite is Man in Moon! It has the right amount of punch with the gorgonzola and everyone that I gave a piece to try loved it! Not only that but each of my guests enjoyed the Cheezy Zaucer Bread and their own personal pizzas!! I'm really happy that my mom and I got to sneak a couple of cheese bread slices before my guests came over since it was basically gone at the end of the party besides 3 pieces. xD It was sooo tasty!! I cant wait to go back here again it's the one part I miss about commuting to Redmond for classes. So excited because my guests said they wanna go here and try the other pizzas!! Finally thank you soo sooo much for the Udo (its a big yummy chocolate chip cookie) and Ice cream it was delicious!!!!! You two are so amazing and your food is like a big warm...

It may be a little weird to start a review of a pizza place by talking about the place and not the pizza, but when you step into Zaucer, it's the first thing you notice. This place is uniquely fun with a great aesthetic that really leans into its theme. Even if retro SciFi isn't your thing, you'll appreciate how well it all comes together - especially when you learn the owner has done all the fabrication (seriously - ask about the giant UFO. See if you can guess what it's made from). There are awesome posters, great screens and retro arcade games.

But then, let's talk about the pizza. First, I love that they have a calzone, as it's hard to find a good one. Their dough and sauces are great, love the wide range of toppings if you want to go off the menu - but their specialties are worth staying on. If nothing else, just because they each match the theme.

All in all, Zaucer is a gem. It's the kind of place that reminds me of what makes the PNW special. It's unique, a little weird, fun, doesn't take itself too seriously, and makes you want...
