We wanted to replace our old laminate countertops with granite. After talking to numerous fabricators, looking at hundreds of slabs of granite and educating myself thoroughly on the subject, I finally found two slabs of granite that I really liked at Northwest Stone. Lesya came to measured and quoted us a price we were happy with. Miguel came to template the kitchen a few days later and a couple of days after that we met with Jonathan to lay the template out the way we wanted it on the slabs we had picked out. Jonathan was willing to cut the granite the way we wanted. They were willing to mill our backsplash down to a thickness we preferred, put edging on everything, miter the corners on the backsplash and agreed to put the seams where we wanted. It took about a week and a half for them to fabricate the stone. Francisco and Sergio arrived on time to do the tear out of the old countertops and install the new granite. They did a fabulous job! They didn't damage anything on the tear out and were very patient with us as we watched over their shoulders as the granite went in. They paid close attention to detail and didn't leave anything undone. We picked a rather busy granite and my biggest seam was where two pieces from different slabs had to meet up. The fabricator at Northwest did a remarkable job of matching the two pieces to meet up perfectly. Francisco seamed it just right. The finished product is beautiful. Fabricating stone into a finished product really is a team effort and Northwest Stone Fabricators has a wonderful crew working for them. I wouldn't hesitate to hire them again for...
Read moreUpdate: their "fix" to remedy the installer scratches, and oil was to charge me full price for their damage to the countertop we paid for. The oil stains still havent come out.
Poor workmanship on the installation and fabrication. It's not worth it, and I would recommend you stay away. They got caulk or epoxy on the brand new painted cabinets.
They oiled our soapstone slab, despite our desire not never to get it oiled. It would appear they did it to cover up the damage from the seam/joint setter.
Multiple scratches and some kind of glue or adhesive is stuck to the middle part of the slab. They appear to be careless and not understand/respect a softer stone like
The custom fabricated sink joints look awful. Their standard sink drain hole is non-standard and doesn't fit drain flanges. Poor caulking on the seams, going to have to redo portions of the basin because they do not look water tight.
We asked for custom runnels, sent a picture, they said they could do it. They cut it, but didn't communicate that what we wanted was done by hand and what they do is CNC'd. Stone can't be uncut so we are stuck with something that really is a huge let down.
Virtually no communication between sales, fabrication, and installation. Over-promise and under deliver seems to be their...
Read moreNW Stone has done two granite fabrications and installations for us in the last 8 years. The first project was our kitchen countertop in 2014. The most recent project was new countertops in three of our bathrooms. From the templating to the final installation, everything was perfect!
