Was up here to do repair work for a customer. Stopped at the buffet yesterday so I could just stuff myself for the day and get back to work until I croaked. Having just come in off the job, I realize my appearance isn't the best, neither was my wife's (she was helping me with the repair work) and all we wanted to do was eat. We were seated, we got our food, and I'll get to that in a bit.
After a couple plates and a bunch of crab I went to the bathroom to wash up so I could grab desert and leave. The woman in charge yesterday goes to my wife and makes comments about my appearance and my touching things. Now I realize having just crawled out from under construction equipment I was by no means sparkling clean, but really? People here got a problem with a working man? Not sure what was referring to by things I touched, because the only things I touched were my plate, my silverware (which was already on the table), and the handles on the food scoops.
Pretty rude, and a great way to push away customers. I've got a bunch of work coming up in this area soon, idk if I wanna spend my money here anymore.
Sucks, because I actually thought the food, while limited in selection, was pretty damn good. They had a brisket out and cooked and seasoned quite nicely. This is the first time I've had crab at ANY china buffet in my life where I actually liked it. Normally I always find the crab to be tasting kind of...inky. The crab here was damn delicious. Tasted like crab and butter! I was even trying to compliment the lady in charge before she walked away from me.
Guess my greasy, working for a living ass will have to find somewhere...
Read moreEvery once in a while I have a craving for stopping by this place. I usually eat more than I should or need to and try to limit my visits.
The food is a very Americanized version of Chinese food. The stuff that should be spicy is actually fairly mild compared to other Chinese restaurants. It also has cheese potato rounds, garlic bread, deep fried shrimp and chicken wings that I would consider fairly Americanized. The do have some traditional dishes such as beef and broccoli, general Tso's Chicken (very mild), and sweet and sour chicken. Also on Saturdays and I think Fridays they have Crab Legs (only place in town you are going to get them), even though they are fairly small it does still give you a taste. Be warned you will have to pay extra on this day for the crab legs if you want them or not. The items on the buffet rarely change and are pretty consistent so if you like what they have then it most likely will be there again the next time.
The value seems pretty close to what you would expect for an all you can eat buffet. They do have a very reduced price for kids that is also very good.
Overall the food changes little from each visit. I enjoy stopping by once in a while, it certainly offers a variety of foods options. They also...
Read moreWe love going to eat chinese food and lately we have not been able to afford it. I did have a punch card however that entitled us to a free buffet with two more punches. So the other night even though money is tight I decided to take my two kids and two nephews out for chinese. They are young toddlers so I knew they would not be much if any. Well everytime we have been there we always get the same waitress and if you eat there you know who I am talking about. You might even like her. I see her nice to some and rude to others. I leave the tip out of habit but never has she really deserved it. Well after the meal they tell me that I could not redeem my free buffet until my next visit. I had to explain to the guy at the register that I was not prepared to pay for three adults, after the waitress had already checked with him. He accepted the punch card right after but I still felt this review was necessary. I will no longer patronize this restaurant even when affordable to me. The price is very high in my opinion and the waitress is cold. I am willing to drive further for a better value and will no longer leave tips to...
