Dollar General — Local services in Reedsburg

Worse Customer Service ever, my roommate took her kids with her there and one of the store employees followed her kids around and one of my roommates kids accidently took $2 fake nails w/o paying for them because she forgot she had them and the store employee starting causing a scene with the child without even talking to her mom, well when my roommate stepped in an asked what the fuss was all about because that's her kid the employee was a racist bigot and asked her how she was suppose to know that she was the mother of the child (roommates kid has darker skin and course hair cuz shes part cuban) and when my roommate wanted to return the items she had already bought from there due to how unprofessional the place was, the Manager Called the Police. Worse experience I have ever had in my life, if I could have given them ZERO STARS I would have but I had to give at least one in order to write this review. I for one will never go back to shopping there until that employee and manager is fired. Who expects a 10 year old to go to a dollar general and steal a $2 thing of fake nails and even walk with her mom when leaving and then say oh, I didn't know it was your kid, like really? Are you that shallow of a human being, I'm guessing she isn't a fan of mixed races, so if your black, mexican, or any color of the rainbow, don't go shopping there even if you don't have your kids with unless you absolutely have no problem with being profiled as soon as you walk through their sliding doors. Today, 29 November 2017 at 2:40 p.m. I went into this store -- the second time in a week. There were 6 people in the store and 5 were standing at the checkout. Funny thing is, the same thing was true when I went in a few days ago, too. Both times there appeared to be (at least) one other employee in the store who seemed unconcerned about the fact that almost all the customers in the store were waiting at checkout. After a few frustrating minutes of standing in line today I did the same thing I did a few days ago: I dumped my items on a display near the checkout and left. It won't happen again because I won't be back. I won't shop where they don't respect my time. I guess that's just the high price of low prices -- or at least it is at the Dollar General in Reedsburg. But Family Dollar is just up the street, Dollar Tree is on the highway at Lake Delton near the Wal-Mart and Home Depot where I go a couple times of month anyway. Stacey is a marvelous employee and I appreciated her help. There was a line full of people, the self check out was down, the codes were not going through. Stacey had to call a manager that was on vacation to reset a code to check me as well as other customers out. Both managers in the store were uncooperative, unprofessional and unsuitable to be management material. Instead of paying managers to not help ring up paying customers use that money to train Stacey to become a manager. This employee showed management skills running the store alone while two workers did nothing. Stacey knew who to call and what to do, took care of customers.
