I wanted Mimosa and brunch and came upon this place. I was not disappointed at all. The place was packed but I was greeted immediately as soon as I walked in and was told I can sit wherever. I was waiting for a friend but I was checked on by the staff regularly. When my friend arrived, we requested to be seated at a table where the seats did not have arms and away from the front door. They readily accommodated that request and we found our “spot” because we planned to come back this weekend. I started off with a cranberry mimosa and it was delicious but they offer different kinds of mimosas. We ordered the crab cake bites and the calamari with the Majestic Mist and Orange Blossom drinks to start. The drinks were superb! Of course my orange blossom was made of champagne while the majestic mist was tequila based. The majestic mist was a little tart and was alright but my orange blossom was great! It was sweet but not too sweet and it came with their homemade (they make it) pomegranate gummy and it was yummy! They have different gummy flavors from what I understand. As for the crab cake bites, you bet it was made with real crab. You can literally see the chunks of crab when you bite into them. The calamari was good but they used batter. I’m partial to either breaded or flour to make it crunchy. Now for our main dish, my friend had the chicken Caesar salad and it was a huge portion. And they also added color to the salad by sprinkling bits of sun dried tomatoes. As for the Avocado toast, it was simple, which I how I prefer it. No drizzling of sauces of any kind topped with quartered boiled eggs and a sprinkling of pepper flakes. It came with halved cherry tomatoes of different colors with a creamy balsamic drizzle. A good taste contrast to the toast. And we got complimentary chocolate (your choice of dark or milk) covered strawberries because they do have this chocolate melters behind the window that you can look at and watch. As for the ambiance, it had a modern decor and it seems that they have live music happening (maybe on weekends) but they do have a small platform on the other end of the restaurant. And as packed as it was, we really gotta give the bartender and the server a shout out because between the two of them, they pulled of servicing every table with ease and managed to provide extra service on the tables with birthday celebrants! Also, for some fun, they shoot champagne into your mouth but they were careful to make sure the champagne does not splatter all over you! Yes! I found a new spot for a girls’ night out or girls’ brunch. My friend and I already set up another brunch...
Read moreI had very high hopes for Champagne and Chocolate. My friends and I decided to go for NYE, and called to book a VIP table for the night. The manager I spoke with on the phone said that there would be four courses, along with a champagne tasting, and unlimited champagne after with whichever champagne you liked the most, along with a masquerade costume contest with prizes. I let them know that two people in my party were vegetarian, and they said that wouldn't be an issue. We paid $660 for four people.
On NYE, we arrived around 7pm. The venue was not busy. We let them know we had a reservation with a VIP package, and were seated right away. They brought out the first course right away, which was a rice ball in marinara, along with a glass of wine. There was a very long wait in between for the second course, and no additional alcohol was brought over. The serving staff and manager were using a champagne gun on each other behind the bar and very drunk. The second course was scallops, and when we reminded them that half of the party was vegetarian they said they'd be right back. They came back with two plates of french fries as substitute. There was no additional alcohol brought over, and we eventually went to the bar and ordered drinks. Around 10pm, there was still no alcohol, and no main meal. I spoke with the manager and let her know, and she replied, "You actually bought the VIP package?" They brought over a bottle of champagne, and brought out tacos. Dessert was two chocolate covered strawberries.
The wait staff was rude, and drunk, and there ended up being no costume contest (we were fully dressed up for the event). I called the next day and asked for a partial refund. I never received a call back. A week later, I tried again. This went on for three weeks, until I finally reached someone who said they would refund half the money. It's now the end of February.
I'm always rooting for local businesses to succeed, and was very hopeful that this would be a place I'd frequent on date nights, but the service we received has ensured that we will...
Read moreBest part of the visit was the music they had playing was jamming! Went in to try it out after hearing reviews from my coworkers. I think it’s best suited for large parties and gatherings for champagne drinkers. The seating and chairs are a bit awkward to get comfortable for eating. The tables didn’t have any salt or pepper which is bizarre to me.. They do have a large assortment of various drinks to meet everyone tastebuds and lot of them sounded amazing! I got the lemon ricotta pancakes wihh the blueberry compote. All the fancy verbiage isn’t needed these are basically pancakes with a few soggy blueberries. The compote is a quarter size on top of the pancake that doesn’t even touch the 2nd pancake. No lemon flavor but the small lemon garnish. The syrup tasted like it has honey which I hate. So it was a strong pass for me considering what was served for the cost. Lacked a lot of taste and moistness. I got a side of bacon which was decent had some meat and not too soggy. My guest ordered chicken fried steak were the potatoes that are suppose to be crispy- out weren’t even cooked so we couldnt even poke a fork into them they were still raw. The chicken fried steak was decent. I also ordered a Tiffany colada drink that came to me missing at least 2 sips the drink was a finger from the rim. More hype than what it’s worth for the cost. The service ir good and our...
