Read moreWell, let me tell yâall somethinâ straight as a cowboyâs drawâif yer lookinâ for a spot that speaks the language of true country folks, Pure Country Canteen in Sparks, Nevada, is callinâ your name louder than a rooster at sunrise. This ainât just some place to wet yer whistle; itâs a bona fide slice of western heaven.
Now, letâs saddle up and talk grub. Their loaded nachos? Pardner, these ainât no skimpy, city-folk nachos. These bad boys come piled higher than a haystack with melty cheese, tangy jalapeños, savory meat, and enough fixinâs to make a ranch hand tip his hat in appreciation. And donât even get me started on their chili bread bowlâthis here masterpiece is like a hug from your grandma in food form. Rich, spicy chili tucked into a soft, warm bread bowl? Itâs the kinda comfort thatâd bring a tear to a cowboyâs eye after a long day on the range.
But Pure Country ainât just about the eatsâitâs about the spirit. You can feel it the second you walk in. The music hums with the soul of the heartland, whether itâs live bands playinâ their hearts out or the sweet sound of karaoke that brings out the star in every soul brave enough to grab that mic. Itâs raw, itâs real, and itâs downright electric.
Now, letâs talk dancinâ. They ainât just got a floor for itâtheyâve got a whole arena. Big enough to let you kick up yer heels without bumpinâ elbows, but cozy enough to feel like every step is part of somethinâ special. And for those who donât know their two-step from their hitchinâ post, their dance lessonsâll have you glidinâ across the floor like you was born in boots.
What really sets this place apart is the way it wraps its arms around folks. From themed nights thatâll make you feel like youâre part of somethinâ bigger to their family-friendly Sundays where even the littlest cowpokes can get in on the action, Pure Country Canteen donât just welcome youâit embraces you, cowboy hat and all.
So, if yer heart beats to the rhythm of steel guitars, if yer soul stirs at the sound of a fiddle, and if yer belly craves the kinda food that sticks to yer ribs and makes you smile, then hitch up the wagon and make tracks to Pure Country Canteen. Itâs a place where the west ainât just aliveâitâs thrivinâ. And trust me, once youâve been, youâll be hollerinâ to come back faster than a...
Read moreWow. What a fun place! If you like country, dancing like 2 steps, west coast swing/ triple swing, country anything, this is the place to be. Now stay with me.
When we got there, there were no cars in the front parking lot. There was a questionable sign taped to the front door with thin lines handwriting "enter from the back door". That paper was flapping around and we circled to the back twice, which had significantly more cars than the front, and decided to give it a whirl. There was no signs on any of the doors in the back but we figured it will be OK.
Upon entry, a little lady was sitting at the end of a short narrow hallway. It was a Saturday night so there was a $5 cover charge. We got there after dinner so it was a little early but we had our pick of the tables. We settled in the far corner by the bar and had a great view. We dance to a few songs and the dance floor has plenty of space. As the evening went on, they had more line dancing.
We ordered the churro since we just came from dinner. They were pretty decent. They also serve regular hot food at a pretty decent price.
The restrooms were very clean. The decor was very fun but not like in the old dirty 20 years old way. This place has only been opened for 4 years.
Oh and they have a pool area in the Chicken Coop on the second floor. Go check it out and you'll see why it's called the chicken coop lounge.
As we were leaving though around 9pm, there was a line of people waiting to get in. There was one belligerent young cowboy trying to skip the line. That was a little more rowdy than I'd like, but that's personal preference. There was a live band, and they played a lot of cowboy classic country, like Miranda lambert. Overall, it's a great place to come do some dancing. A fun hangout or even take...
