I order the basic $10.99 (Chili's) or $10.99 Applebee's (advertised but actually $12.99 charged) cheeseburger deals with some tweaking. Order the bacon crispy or get chewy "undercooked" bacon like all fast food joints make it in this town. Ask for grilled onions instead of fresh onions. Expect the 2 items to make your burger greasy in a way that may require holding the delivered product upright and sideways to let the excess liquids to drip off the bun. I tried both medium and well done on the cook of the patty. Medium (pink) has less flavor and is not served hot. Coupled with chewy bacon this meal is below 3 stars. Cooked to order the overall experience is 4 stars. The habitual slow service has come with all my visits limiting my highest rating to 4 stars. Applebee's advertises $10.99 but is actually charging $12.99 for a similar deal with bottomless fries versus Chili's single order. The burger at Chili's is better value than Applebee's and is $2 less. The slow service is consistent at both establishments which limits the highest star rating to only 4 stars overall. I tip 30% in cash for these bargain meals unless things are less than 4 stars overall. The atmosphere is always 4 stars at best due to some obvious element of the bar being sticky or seating needing some corrective upgrades that are easily noted. Even if the current occupant levels are low when I arrive I sit at the bar where from I make my observations herein. No matter how busy the restaurant is it seems the help are milling around attending to other things which accounts for the longer service waiting times for drink refills or incidental customer meal requests. Sometimes (when all the help disappear from the room for several minutes) I jokingly think about throwing a leg tackle on the next employee I see to settle my bill or get a drink refilled. Managers are always present. They never come around to ask any of the cus tomers how the meal went. This is strange but true of both Chili's and Applebee's in Sparks and Reno. My ratings could easily improve to 5 stars with some reasonable improvements passed on directly to the managers I see standing or roaming around (out and away from direct...
Read moreFirst time going to a Chili's in 20 years.. And wouldn't go again for another 20.. maybe 30..😆 I won't even be alive. Ordered the Southwest Chicken salad (it's the only one on the menu) BF ordered the Rib eye with Broccoli and mashed potatoes. Mashed potatoes were cold, the broccoli was still raw. However, he said the steak was good. He had to ask for butter for the potatoes, had to ask for salt and pepper and A1 sauce. The waiter brought the items and the salt was still sealed with the plastic wrap from the manufacturer/ store. (We just think that was simply lazy he couldn't open it.) I took two bites of my salad and my mouth was on fire as if someone had sprayed pepper spray in my mouth. The chicken is not a crispy chicken like the picture depicted.. I asked the waitress what kind of dressing it was.. she stated it was the 2nd to hottest. Shouldn't people be warned about that? I enjoy hot spicy things as much as the next person. But not to the extreme my lips were on fire and numb. I ordered a salad because I had heartburn. Not knowing a salad would just ignite my chest. The waitress did get me a new salad without the burning dressing, no apologies or take at least $5 bucks off the bill. For $75 for the meal you would think You could get silverware not in a childlike paper bag thrown on the table like a fast food restaurant. And look up to see bowling on the TV's.. who watches bowling? Corporate restaurants like Chili's or Applebee's is a mockery of what a Restaurant is supposed to be. And what restaurant doesn't take cash? You have to pay on some little Gameboy sitting on the table.. Impersonal, low quality, turn and burn, over...
Read moreI placed an order earlier today that ended up being a NIGHTMARE because of the dasher that picked it up. He was extremely rude, hung up on me, canceled my order, and kept my food. This was a meal I was planning on having with my daughter while we hung out in bed and watched a movie on a lazy Sunday. Needless to say she was very disappointed. I called doordash who said I'd have to speak with corporate Chili's to get a refund. They were closed since it's Sunday. This whole situation was so frustrating, but I went ahead and placed another order because my daughter was really looking forward to it. I almost immediately got a call from Parker at Chili's confirming my order since they had just completed out my previous order. I briefly explained the situation to her, and confirmed I placed the reorder and was calling corporate tomorrow for my refund. Chili's, let me tell you, Parker came through for us in such a huge way!!! She personally apologized and said I don't need to call corporate as she was going to take care of my refund for us! She was so sweet and empathetic and genuine! I never leave reviews, but Parker definitely deserved one! I work in customer service and I know it's not always about the mistake, but the recovery that matters. Chilis was not even to blame for this, but Parker still took it in her own hands to do what she could to make it right for a customer! I could not have been more grateful! She turned my terrible situation into a great experience and I appreciate it so much!! GIVE HER A RAISE CHILI'S!!!! She's an all-star!! Thank you...
