Steadily going downhill!
When we first started going here it was fun and busy, the food was great, and the service was spot on. We had been going once or twice a month.
Tonight, our server was actually very sweet but her ability to be a good server was in need of some improvement in some areas.
We ordered a bowl of French onion soup and the Asian chicken salad with the dressing on the side for us to both split. She made a great suggestion to get 2 cups instead as it would be the same cost as a bowl since one cup of soup was an add on to the meal and then get another cup. We took the suggestion and it worked out great!
The table next to us ordered the meatloaf and they had a coupon for buy one get one free. When they got the meatloaf it didn't taste as to their expectations. He asked the server what was in it and who made it? She said the food was part of a chain so it was not made in house. Although the menu said it was homemade!
When we got our salads they had the dressing already on it although we had asked them to put the dressing on the side and so she took the salads back. When she came back out with a new salads the lettuce was pretty gross and it was frozen!! We were both pretty disappointed with the salad.
Then there was a table that was seated a couple away from us that had been there before us asked another server if they could order. The server had forgotten all about them. There were not a lot of tables that she had to serve so it was a bit disappointing to see all the kitchen and front of the house mistakes.
Anyway, our bill for the 2 cups of soup only came out to a little over $5. We gave her a nice tip though. Unfortunately, we are not interested in going back...
Read moreWhat a delightful restaurant!! This was my first time here. The parking for this restaurant is abundant. I was greeted warmly and seated within a reasonable time.
This quaint restaurant has such a wonderful vibe with very whimsical atmosphere. There is a nostalgic New Orleans and jazz theme art decorations with a touch of humor.
Since I was there around 10:40 I asked my waitress for the lunch menu. I ended up talking to the waitress and discussing that I had time to wait. I decided on lunch and she let me know that I would need to wait for a short time. It was actually only about 10 minutes. How sweet of my waitress Laura to worry about my time.
I ended up deciding on a cheese sandwich and French Onion soup. I was pleasantly surprised that my meal was cheaper as I only paid an additional $0.99 cents for the soup as it was in place of fries.
Laura was so kind, attentive and personable. She also asked me if I had been to the restaurant before. I informed her that this was my first time. She pleasantly informed me that first time customers received two free muffins of my choice. I asked her what her favorite muffin was she said Blueberry. I decided on the blueberry. I must admit that they were indeed very tasty and plump full of what tasted like fresh blueberries not frozen or dried.
Thank you so much Laura. I hope that your employer gives you a ton of kudos. Your pleasant demeanor and generosity have guaranteed that I will definitely return and...
Read moreFirst time going today and unfortunately won’t go back. There food selection is good. I asked for the Belgian waffles and the server said they only had regular waffles, I had to show her the picture on the menu and she said oh ok I guess we do have those (something a server would know or could ask can you show me before saying they don’t have it). There potatoes on the breakfast did not taste good (maybe they are frozen potatoes). On the chicken and waffles the chicken strips were more like what I’d call fish sticks, thin and not really breaded like chicken, would barely consider them chicken strips. They had thin bacon strips which I just prefer thick cut but that’s a preference vs what they have. The server was ok, I am not a fan of the servers circle-ling (lol don’t know how to spell that) the gratuity recommended on our receipt, I always leave a good tip even if the service is bad I’ll leave something as they work hard. On our way out our server looked at us and didn’t say anything (usually they say have a great day, see you next time, thank you for coming, something). Then we walk by 3 more servers/staff members at the bar by the door and again they look at us but didn’t say anything, to me customer service can keep people coming back even if the food/experience wasn’t that great. Gave them 2 stars because the atmosphere is pleasant and they had a flood...
