Mountain Mike's Pizza — Restaurant in Reno

I’ve eaten at several Mountain Mike’s pizza locations in different cities and the end result has always been the same. Recently a new location opened near me and some of the reviews were favorable so I decided to give it a try with an open mind.

While the staff and the restaurant itself are quite pleasant, the pizza they sell is still a resounding disappointment. Nothing personal against MM’s pizza chain, but the quality of their product absolutely sucks. Soggy crust which is too thick, too doughy and too chewy. The pie was extremely greasy, and not the good kind of slightly greasy that enhances the taste. We’re talking gross greasy. The toppings only exacerbate the unfortunate pie as nothing seems fresh (unless it’s fresh out of a bag or can). I ordered a pie called a Hawaiian Luau and it includes pineapple, bbq chicken, bacon bits and bbq sauce. The chicken and bacon bits clearly came in a bag from some mass production processing plant and the excess of bbq sauce (though flavorful) was simply too much. After two slices the rest of my $29 medium Luau pie went in the trash. Again, the staff was friendly and efficient, the restaurant was clean and attractive. Sadly Mountain Mike’s version of pizza belongs where it is now - in my big green Waste...

Overpriced, Undercooked, and Dirty

The Food : The pizza was so undercooked that the vegetables were still cold and raw. Words can't describe how undercooked the $8 jalapeno poppers were. So I added a picture to this review.

The Atmosphere : Before we get down to "the dirt". Let's start with the TV that was blasting a show called Tosh.0 ( a skit show with very "off-color" jokes and foul language. ) The show was being played on the dining room TV at a high volume with kids and families in the dining area. As far as cleanliness goes let's just say, i'm calling the health department tomorrow morning. I've added a picture of the toilet which was taken after my 3rd flush. When do you think it was cleaned last?

The Staff : in one word apathetic. Which is no shock given the state of the food and the restaurant. Everything I have said here I also told them before i left. As i brought up each problem to the manager, he either made excuses or acted like what I was saying was "no big deal".

Needless to say I won't be back. And at a price point of $50 to feed 2 people, i recommend you too find another place to give your hard...

Mountain Mike? Really? You should rename it to mountain Habib. This place is run by a complete idiot. After waiting on hold, and them accidentally hanging up, I called back to be put on hold again. Then the guy on the phone couldn't understand English at all. I had to spell my street name 4 times for him slowly. Very slowly. Then after he finally deciphered it he told me he couldn't deliver to my area. I would love to comment on the quality of the pizza rather than the quality of the person on the phone, but didn't get a chance. Reno is a small town. Perhaps on your website you could list your delivery areas or MAYBE you could hire someone that can comprehend English... You're in an English speaking country after all.... Do I have to learn Arabic to order from you?? Lastly you're 2 freeway exits from me.... seriously you can't deliver 10 minutes away in this small town? Absolutely pathetic....... Worst customer service experience I've had...
