Sierra Gold — Restaurant in Reno

Usually I can give a straight yes or no to a place. However, this one is kind of all over the board.

On the side of the building is a set of doors that look like they will take you into the main tavern. But it doesn't. Instead, it's a tiny little side bar that is dark and dreary looking. It was full of people who were smoking, so I'm assuming this is the smoking section of the bar -cut off from the rest of the establishment by an interior wall.

On the other side is the main entrance which opens into the bar, tables for dining, billiards, and a couch lounge area. I ordered the pub burger medium rare. The server was great; she answered questions and gave me a physical menu and brought my food out promptly. The burger was undercooked on the top patty and overcooked on the bottom patty. There was so much sauce on the burger it was soggy before I was even a quarter of the way through it, and the meat was so over seasoned I couldn't even taste anything else. I may return and try something else to eat; maybe the cook was new or something, but it definitely didn't taste like a burger - just sauce...

I was there one time and unfortunately I have to give it two stars because it wasn't a good experience. I'm sure if I went a second time it would be a much better experience I would hope. The meal that I ordered was a simple taco salad with ground beef my wife ordered the same and the ground beef was burnt, on top of that it took a while to get to simple Taco salad but I understand what they were trying to do and they were trying to get out multiple tables at the same time so I think that's why my ground beef was overcooked. And I have to mention the hair in my wife salad which she sent back and they made her a new one. That second salad did come much faster and...

Having been very longtime Sierra Gold customers in Las Vegas at their flagship location (Jones & the 215), this one unfortunately falls way beyond the excellent mark. Most Sierra Gold's pride themselves not only on terrific food - but outstanding service that stands out and keeps us coming back. This location had very poor and apathetic wait staff who were constantly standing around on their phones, with what seemed like little attention to refilling drinks. The food wasn't at all up to SG standards either. We were so excited to find a Sierra Gold near us, hopefully Golden Gaming reads this, as the competition in South Meadows for...
