Food: Delicious 🎉 $14 - Mongolian Chicken $13 - Lemongrass Chicken with Vermicelli $10 - Vietnamese Sandwich, Bahn Mi
Entree 1: Mongolian Chicken 🥢🍛 Juicy, thick slices of chicken slathered in spicy, salty earthy flavors reminiscent of teriyaki but better, almost a hint of fruit, or perhaps that was the fresh red and green bell peppers 🫑 coming through. The dish's plentiful portions of chicken came not only with peppers but also lots of green and white onion. The white rice that came with it was unremarkable, except that I used it all to soak up every bit of that delicious sauce.
Entree 2: Lemongrass Grilled Chicken with Vermicelli 🍜 This is my usual go-to dish. It's really good. It has cilantro, peanuts, carrots, red bell pepper, green onion, yellow onion, Thai basil, vermicelli noodle, and a light sweet sauce that you can pour over it. The cilantro really freshens up the dish for anyone who wants a lighter flavor that isn't as heavy as something like Mongolian chicken or General Tso's chicken. This would probably be the dish I would recommend for any first timer here.
Appetizer 1: Vietnamese Sandwich, Bahn Mi 🥪 This was my first time ordering this sandwich. I got it with Grilled Pork, but it can also come with chicken or ham. I thought the sandwich and its ingredients were good but they were better with a little Sriracha. Also the bread could have been less chewy, but maybe that's just me.
Environment: Needs Improvement 🏠 A non-memorable series of nondescript music played. There was a fly that wouldn't leave our table alone. The table was still wet after it was cleaned for us and we had to wipe it ourselves. We sat at a booth in the evening but the sun 🌞 was blasting through into my date's eyes. I would say there could be a lot of improvements to the overall experience, but there are some nice decorative parasols hanging from the ceiling and it didn't feel crowded which is always good.
Service: 🧑🍳 My water was filled once and the check arrived without asking. No complaints, but also average.
FInal Verdict: Yes! Eat here. Definitely go here for the food. It's worth the price, for sure. I think dining in will be the best experience because the food will be hot and fresh and it's...
Read moreI've been on the hunt for more good pho restaurants in Reno and I came across La Mint on Yelp. There were so many amazing reviews so I had to try them out. We came in on a Wednesday during lunch and they were quite busy. We were quickly greeted and seated by a staff member. Upon entering, I was so impressed by the modern and aesthetic interior decor! There's a bench with flowers at the entrance for photos and seating areas within the restaurant with flower backgrounds for Instagram worthy pictures! Anyways, there is a QR code for the online menu, but we were also handed a physical menu. We ordered P2 (combination pho), P9 (rare steak and tripe pho), and shrimp spring rolls. The spring rolls came out within 2 minutes of our order and both pho came out at the same time within 10 minutes! The spring rolls were absolutely delicious! The shrimp spring rolls have lettuce, rice noodles, and shrimp. Very simple, but not to be underestimated by the flavors you can get. The peanut sauce was my favorite part! It was still warm and had a strong peanut flavor compared to some places. As with the pho, the broth was good. Just not as flavorful as the broth of 999 Pho. Not as much meat for the price, but it definitely looks very beautiful with the way it is plated! My boyfriend got the combination and noticed there is not a lot of meat for the price. However, for the whole experience and quality of food, it is worth it. Overall, I would recommend La Mint because of the cleanliness, service, food, and overall experience. I would love to take friends here not only for the food, but also the aesthetics! I love all the cute umbrellas on the ceiling, and aesthetic backgrounds for photos. I can't believe I haven't heard of...

Lá Mint is a standout Vietnamese spot in Reno that blends modern style with comforting flavors. From the moment you walk in, the décor catches your eye—clean lines, subtle lighting, and little touches (like hanging umbrellas) that make it feel fresh and inviting.
The food lives up to the ambiance. Their pho broth is consistently praised as rich and satisfying, and their menu offers more than just pho—think grilled pork, vermicelli bowls, chow fun noodles, appetizers like spring rolls and potstickers, and even Vietnamese coffee. Portions are generous, which helps with value.
Service is generally fast and friendly. Some diners note that during busy times things slow down a bit or order taking takes a moment, but nothing major that ruins the experience.
One of Lá Mint’s strong appeals is its variety—no matter your mood you’ll find something tempting. And for vegans or vegetarians, there are options (though a few customers caution that you may need to clarify ingredients like oyster sauce).
If I had to be picky: sometimes orders come out out of sequence, or small details (like ingredient substitutions) can get mixed up. Also, during peak hours you might wait a bit to be seated. But overall, the positives far outweigh the minor hiccups.
Bottom line: If you’re in Reno and craving Vietnamese food that’s more than average, Lá Mint is well worth a visit. It’s got style, flavors, and breadth of menu to satisfy both regulars and those new to the cuisine. Let me know if you want a shorter “Yelp-style” version...
