As a casual comfort dining Mediterranean restaurant, this place is possibly the Best Reno’s got. I've been to this place probably few dozen times, and the reason I waited this long to write a review, is because I like this place a lot and wanted to give my unbiased constructive opinion.
First of all, for a very humble wait time (almost fast food like) you get a decent portion meal with some fresh homemade qualities. Some stuff here are better than the others, or at least they are my favorite. I like beef kabab wraps a lot. Also the mixed Shawarma. Another absolute favorite of mine is the Tabbouleh. I get the Tabbouleh every time I'm there, both for there and to go, I just love it cant help it. And Finally the Baklava and their mixed Persian tea combine so well. I have bought their mix and make the tea myself at home with their Baklava, and it is a life saver when you crave something sweet and delicious. I also really like their homemade garlic sauce. Once I ordered loaded fries and it came with this sauce that I can't get out of my head.
The owner and the staff are very lovely and nice and you can see a good portion of their Kitchen from the front cashier and it is always very clean and organized. (I tend to peak inside the Kitchens wherever I go if possible and tend to look for signs of cleanliness and other stuff). Overall, this place is amazing and if you crave some casual Mediterranean food like Wraps and Shawarma or Baklava/Tea and stuff, I strongly...
Read moreCustomer Service: So weird and awkward. You never get to speak with or interact with an actual human. You must call the number press the prompts, they text you a website link to order, you place your order online. You cannot call and talk to a person ever and ask any questions about their menu or the order and pickup process. When you arrive the door is locked. You must remake in your car and text the number to tell them you are there. They bring your food out when it is ready. OUR FOOD WAS 10 MINUTES LATE. So we sat in our car for 10 minutes waiting after their pickup time, and there was no way to call or speak to someone about them running late and how long the wait might be. Food: We ordered chicken shawarma bowls. Quality was cheap, taste was terrible. Chicken was gamey, overcooked, dry, old, bland, no seasoning. Hummus was soupy. Garlic sauce had no garlic flavor. Tabouli portion was small and bland. The baklava was small and expensive but the taste wasn’t bad. We took a couple bites of everything and ended up throwing it away and ate something else we had at home for dinner. ALADDIN’s is WAYYYYY better than this place. Customer service is above average, the chicken shawarma has flavor and the chicken is better quality, the tabouli is delicious, and the baklava is not as runny and more affordable for the quality. 1180 Holcomb...
Read moreI wasn’t sure if I should give it three or four stars. First off I’ll say I disklike that you have to use an app to order from them even in person they ask you to “order online” the first time I went here I left bc of that reason without ordering and was prepared to do the same today, but the employee working was bringing someone’s order outside (you cannot enter the store for any reason) and was very nice, he ended up taking my order for me which was super kind and appreciated very much. As far as the food goes I got a gyro platter, I do feel $18 for this plate is overpriced for the amount of meat you get. Also the meat was shaved in weird thin parts unlike a typical gyro which I didn’t prefer. The taste was ok though. The pita bread is very thin and not soft again something I didn’t care for. Maybe these are more traditional ways of making Greek food, but it wasn’t the typical gyro spot that I wanted IMO. The rice was the best part to me. If you are craving a gyro it will work, but not something I’ll be dying...
