Four Generals Brewing — Restaurant in Renton

This is my absolute favorite brewery in the Renton area, no comparison. It is a family-owned business specializing in authentic German beer. There are also some other options if you’ve made a wrong turn in your life and don’t enjoy German beer.

As creeped into my late 30s, beer started to hurt my stomach. This is the only place I will consistently drink beer from now, as I’ve never experienced this issue here. I don’t know if it’s the ingredients or the way it’s brewed, but I’m so happy I can continue to imbibe such delicious creations at such a cute spot.

Other highlights: Dogs allowed inside & on the small patio, Plentiful dog treats, Friendly bartenders & patrons, Board games, Slightly off the main drag & a bit quieter, Growler fills.

Up until today I've had nothing but positive experiences with the General, but today I had an experience that I consider soul crushing. I came in with my growler, ready to grab some beer, the young lady at the bar, who I've dealt with several times, was talking to customers at a table. I waited at the bar, she finished talking with the table, went back to the bar, AND LOOKED RIGHT THROUGH ME!! A group came up to the bar AND SHE CONTINUED TO LOOK RIGHT THROUGH ME AS SHE TOOK THAT GROUP'S ORDER. A regular sitting at the bar tried to get her attention and she ignored both of us. So we wanted to have some beer in Renton and this place came up on the search. First impression is that the place looks nice, located in an interesting downtown The beers: we tried their Altbier, River haze, weizenbock and an IPA. They are all decent but nothing is excellent or particularly good. The brewery is dog friendly and they have plenty of seats outdoor so you can have a good view of the town which is good.
