What an adorable coffee shop! The drinks are delicious, the food is fresh and tasty, the space is thoughtfully designed, and both the owner and staff are friendly and approachable. They start with Counter Culture Coffee beans, so, a good base layer for their drinks. Counter Culture Coffee is solid.

When I went most recently, I had a large mint tea, a Caesar salad chicken wrap with avocado and a pumpkin spice white mocha. The chicken wrap was just the right amount of salty and crunchy and delightful. The latte was everything someone who loves fall dreams about. Sweet and creamy, full of gentle warming spices; a well-balanced drink. Getting latte art in your oat milk drink makes a lactose-intolerant customer smile, BTW.

There are a few gluten-free items in their bakery case, and some things that can be modified to exclude gluten on their menu. There are water fountains by the restrooms.

Important notes for accessibility: there is a wheelchair, friendly ramp that can access the shop from the parking lot, on the left, but it’s long and would be challenging in ice or snow. The bathrooms are single use and big enough to easily accommodate a wheelchair and have proper grab bars.

Reston opened this morning 9/22

Parking is super easy as was finding the shop. Up some short stairs into this gorgeous space. There’s room to gather, to work and even a reading nook. I think it’s the prettiest of the locations. Of course the famous water bowl is on the patio waiting for its first canine customer.

It’s easy to navigate in and out of the center onto sunrise valley.

They take coffee seriously here but not snobby about it.

The cortado stands well on its own. Lattes are smooth and rich. So well done neither need sweetener to shine. The hardest part was deciding what to pick. They use Counter culture at this location. For those that want to know. The Baristas are seasoned and know how to make an excellent drink.

Their seasonal offerings are good with some more unique flavors as well as the standard. caramel brûlée is a favorite. They are reasonably priced especially for the quality they provide.

I’m looking forward to coming back and tearing into those tasty breakfast sandwiches. It’s an addiction. It’s also nice that this is within walking distance...
