Bro, I swear this Tedâs Bulletin is a catfish. I had one of the best dining experiences at the one in One Loudoun (my first time). I figured, hey, Reston one should be really good, too! Hell, it was between Mortonâs or Tedâs, and Tedâs won out (the wife always has questioned my decision-making skills). This experience made me questioning if the original Reston Ted was switched at birth and is somewhere in Herndon or Sterling living life as a Bojangles. One Loudoun Ted had fantastic service, wonderful food, and great atmosphere. Reston âTedâ was⌠slippery⌠and Medieval Times-ish⌠lemme explainâŚ. So we go in, atmosphere is kinda weathered wooden bar-like (One Loudoun Ted is hotel art-deco) but ok, whatevs. We sit, order our food. Wife orders an aperitif, we order the steak frites (crying thinking about the missed Mortonâs opportunity ), and we get salads. I go to the bathroom. Iâm walking and then I slightly slip. Not once, but two times! I go to the staff and let them know about it. Figure they donât want liability or anything like that. Young kid looks at me and gives me what I amounts to a facial shrug. Ok, whatever somebody will take care of it. Do my business then head back to the table. Got my salad while I was gone. Reach for the utensils then realize, no utensils on the table at all. Waiter then doesnât come around for a while. Watched my salad for a while while I tried locating my waiter. Finally, dude come in and hands my wife her steak and me mine (âand what a cute baby steak it wasâ.. said no one everâŚbetter name for the dish is Frites!.. and Steak?). Wife asks for her salad. Waiterâs helper brings utensils (making progress!). Apertif finally comes. So for those keeping score, we got our steak first, then our salad, then our drink. We eat, we eat up, my steak is SUPER-salty (probably much like this review). Trust me, I â¤ď¸ salt, but this was heavy salting. You know that feeling when you have a little too much wasabi or a brain-freeze? That was me with the salt on this dish. So my wife heads to the bathroom and comes back complaining that SHE slipped and almost fell! So I got angry and said something I never say⌠âIâm going to speak to the manager..â My 9-year old catches this and immediately calls me a Karen. I almost owned it, but peer-pressure ruled the day, so shrank back and tipped 15% (THaTâll show âem!!) My kids were cool with the food, so thereâs that, but it was just a complete 180 from the romantic experience I had with One Loudoun Ted. I wanted to have One Loudoun Tedâs babies. Instead, I cheated on One Loudoun Ted with Reston Ted and got treated like the closeted Karen I am⌠now I know how...
Read moreWriting this as a safety warning for others and to staff, I suppose. I used to dine here when they first opened a few years ago, and everything was always pretty good. Last nightâs delivery was a very different story. Iâve ordered the huevos rancheros a few times via delivery and the sunny side eggs are always extra runny. While I prefer eggs over medium, there is no option to edit this on UberEats but there certainly should be and I am advocating for this, emphatically. The eggs have come so runny, that often I have to op to remove most or part of the egg myself. Whether itâs a miscommunication with Uber or the restaurant my delivery driver told me my order had been sitting there for an hour before he got a notification for pickup. Either way, between the extremely runny, undercooked egg, time out of the kitchen to door, and missing chorizo (the main star and protein of this meal, and no I did not opt for this to be omitted)⌠I became extremely ill. This is six hours later and Iâm just starting to feel normal again after unspeakable things suffered in the bathroom and not to mention extreme stomach cramps and cold sweats. If at the very least these safety hazards for delivery cannot be controlled, I am asking management to ensure the eggs are cooked to a reasonable level. Eggs are a fine art, but also food safety is of utmost importance, that should go without saying. Second best option is to please update the delivery app option to include handwritten notes and/or opt for a specific egg temperature. I know different restaurants include this option, and it varies from place to place but this signals to me that this is at least an option. If this isnât updated or fixed somehow I will have to refrain from eating here indefinitely, not out of spite but...
Read moreDecided to try this place on 01/04/18- Horrible service received. From the moment we were given a table, our Non-social, non-customer oriented waitress treated us so poorly. Gave us water and never suggested anything else, just leaving the menus and walking away- NEVER came to table to offer anything, I had to flag her down to get some dressing for a salad, but she was so entertained with other patrons and not Us. Did not offer a refill, until later when again I had to ask for it, and her demeanor was as if we were a bunch of beggars on a table, she really made us feel uncomfortable and non-welcome. Almost, as racial profiling us. Never have felt this way beforeâbut I know the feeling now!!!! Bottom line was when I asked for her to split the bill in 2, my daughter paid her portion in cash and I presented my cc to pay for my shareâour waitress took the cash assuming all was for her, because she returned no cash back to my daughter, assuming I guess ALL WAS FOR HER. When I was the one in charge to leave the tip on my ccâwhich I did leave her a tip for the poor service she provided. She could have gotten more money because we understand the waitress wages, both my daughter and boyfriend working in restaurants- one as a chef, and the other as quality assurance.
If you are Hispanic as we are, please donât come to this place- they look down on you. We like to go out and enjoy our food, and to have a pleasant experience- we donât come demanding- but, certainly donât come either to be given the kind of service this lady provided- The food was decent, could have been better if it was accompanied by the sense of being happy doing your job and treating everyone with dignity, respect and courtesyâwhich we...
