Fantastic location in Reston town center. Many stores and restaurants within walking distance.
The front desk staff was great. Joseph was very professional and helpful. The young man who checked me in was also very welcoming.
Capital Burger is attached to the hotel and has an excellent breakfast with fabulous service.
Parking is abundant and convenient in the attached garage.
Gym- equipment was great. Wide variety of cardio and strength equipment as well as lots of room for floor work. They do limit occupancy but It wasn't very busy during covid. Gym always seemed to be out of clean towels when I was there. Women's locker room is locked from the gym side. Mobile key doesn't work on pool access so bring the physical key card.
Jacuzzi is closed (Covid) but the pool is open. Water was nice and warm and the pool, surrounding area and locker room are all kept very clean. Fresh towels are provided. Despite the very large sign that says no lifeguard on duty there was a friendly lifeguard.
I stayed in room 1503 which had a nice view of the street and ice skating rink down below. The bedroom has timeless decor that was also very comfortable. The down pillows and bedding provided a comfortable night of sleep. There is a large stain on the ceiling from an old water leak that I'm surprised they haven't fixed.
They provided a toothbrush, toothpaste and mouth rinse in the bathroom. Small touch but I really appreciated not having to dig out my toiletries bag the first night.
The room ran very warm. I had it set to 65° with high fan and my thermometer clocked the room temperature at 77°.
Mini fridge didn't get very cold and there was no way to adjust it. It was fine for keeping bottled water nice and cool but my yogurt/cottage cheese felt too warm for safe consumption.
Other hyatt regencies put a new plastic bag over the remote before each guest. I love this so I don't have to clean it with alcohol wipes when I arrive. Wish they would do this here.
15th floor ice machine appears to be broken as it didn't have any ice during my 4 night stay. Plenty of ice on the 14th floor.
They have chromecast on the TV so you can easily stream Netflix, xfinity, hulu, YouTube etc from your phone.
My husband had a strange encounter with the security guard. He went down to order breakfast before leaving for work only to realize he was too early and that it didn't open until 630 so he sat in the lobby. Security guard approached and asked what he was doing there. He explained that he was just waiting for restaurant to open. Then was asked multiple times if he was sure that he was a guest of the hotel. Very awkward and unwelcoming.
Remote checkout was easy.
There were a few hiccups but overall the stay was pleasant. It's a beautiful hotel but a few things they could improve on. I look forward to staying here again post-pandmeic when I can enjoy more of the...

Read moreFront desk personnel service rated a zero for the check-in (11/27/21)process. There was a middle aged rather pruned pale faced lady with dark shoulder length straight hair. Smaller plain build and a snooty prute demeanor as if she was management and had been for some time. Upon booking my room I had requested an earlier check in when additional requests was prompted due to my fiancee being pregnant and the fact we would arrive earlier than the standard check in time. I realized that the request was not guaranteed. HOWEVER, when I attempted to check in at 1:40pm, I was told by the prune that there were no rooms available and check in was 4pm. She instructed for me to come back after 4pm. I understood the small possibility that there could be 0 king rooms available in this massive hotel and I politely asked if she could call me when one became available. She took my phone number and as I returned to my vehicle she proceeded to what appeared to be checking in other guests. After driving many hours to the hotel, I again got back in the car with the family to drive around the area a bit more and anticipated the hotels call when the room was ready. I received no call. I returned to the check in desk thinking maybe the lady helping me had gone for the day but she was standing there behind the desk simply watching guests come and go through the lobby. I was then checked in by a younger lady named Inchrem*(spelling) with a name tag stating that she was in training. There were no issues checking in the 2nd time around. My conclusion was the initial lady had plenty of opportunities to let me know a room was available prior to my family and I wandering aimlessly after a long trip. Hyatt was supposed to be a quality hotel chain that valued their customers. I did not feel valued and the hotel room was well weathered in need of an overdue renovation. I'm glad I canceled the town center suite and opted for the standard king since I wouldn't be staying as long as I expected. If the town center suite, for more than double the price, was a reflection of the one I was given, I dodged another waste of money with Hyatt. Highly disappointed. (Room service was...
