Frank the owner seems to be a standup guy, but refuses to see what the woman running things at night is doing to his business. If you aren't there to gamble you'll get ignored. You will wait over an hour for slices if you are just stopping through for a quick bite, and the slice pizza never gets made after she gets rude and says just a few minutes. If you order a steak n cheese with mustard, you'll get what used to be steak and mushroom with the cheese and mushrooms scraped off and wrapped without cheese or the simple mustard you asked for. But if you say anything about it she gets super rude. If you see the skinny dark haired woman in her 50's behind the counter, turn around and walk out, it isn't worth the aggravation. They evidently won some pizza contest in the 80's that they are still trying to live off. The big secret is they put a little sugar in their crust. Unfortunately, if you want much more than crust, you are out of luck friend. Barely any cheese on their pizza at all. I wouldn't say it 'tops' the pizza, more like it serves as camouflage for the very lightly sauced pizza. If hanging out with a bunch of 40+ childrens bmx riding dudes that like to gamble and flirt with the woman behind the counter that runs things at night, then this place is for you.
The girls frank has behind the counter during the day are pleasant and helpful. I feel bad for them. Most people in the neighborhoods around them don't order food there anymore. Haven't seen their delivery people in my neighborhood for years now. They are dependent on being next to the mbta, and writing over the top fake reviews. Read a couple, it's good comedy. I wish it wasn't like this because I'd love to have a pizza place in revere to order from. Unfortunately we have to go to east boston...
Read moreI have been coming here to eat pizza for 20 years. The place has changed I tried to buy 3 slices of pizza and it came $9 the cashier told me that there is a $10 minimum for debit, now sorry I can't help you. I work all day and I'm hungry and I have been buying pizza here for decades now this has changed apparently the debit fee for a purchase under $10 will break the bank with this company. The female cashier with tattoos is always very rude and does not know how to treat customers, especially long time customers like me. If you work off of tips you should have a decent attitude and be thankful for a job especially the way that you act overly confident and overrated. There is an older woman who works there that is really nice and she has been for years. I have noticed that quality has gone downhill also, I always ask is it the same owner. They tell me yes it is the same owner but there has definitely been some changes in the values and quality food. It is now almost $3 for a small slice of pizza that is subpar quality/grease sogged, different ingredients than usually. Not the Luigis Pizza I remember back in the good old days, sadly.I will go elsewhere with my business this is the last time I come to this place. I would always give Luigi's 5 stars but it is sad to say they only deserve one star and it has been this way for the past couple of...
Read moreFrom the minute we arrived to the time we walked out the door an hour and a half later we experienced dining heaven! Josie greeted us and we knew right then that my wife found the perfect local Italian restaurant to meet our son, daughter, and son-in-law arriving from the airport. As we waited for them we ordered drinks and an appetizer--fried ravioli, so good dipped in the meat sauce. My son ordered two slices of their award winning pizza, fresh out of the oven, my daughter and son-in-law had a supreme pizza that looked and tasted magnificent, my wife had the linguini and meatballs, I had the ziti with sausage, all of it prepared to perfection!
Family owned, it's been in business since 1981. Josie, who did more than just wait on us, is wonderful, so personable and accommodating, and we Midwesterners loved her Boston Italian accent! She even introduced us to the owner, the nephew of Luigi, the founder. And she wouldn't let us leave without a hug, and also presented my wife and me some homemade cannolis when we told her we had recently celebrated our 40th anniversary. It was easy to rank this as our number one dining experience of our 2 week New...
