I'm not sure when the last time this place was inspected, but there are several things wrong with the way the employees here are handling food.
Don't get me wrong, it's great to get a $5 pizza with unlimited toppings when you're willing to forego a normal sized pizza, but both times I have been here, I have been appalled at how this restaurant lets the employees handle the food I'm about to eat. The girls have their hair down, don't wear hair nets or even put up their hair into a ponytail, and grab the toppings for the pizza with their bare hands, no gloves. Once I saw an employee bring in what I assume was a serving of leftover brisket from the hickory. They set down the tray of food on a counter near the pizza toppings, and the employee proceeded to eat the food right before preparing my pizza. I have worked at multiple food industry jobs, including places like Noodles and Company and a smoothie bar. Both jobs had very strict rules about dress code, wearing gloves when preparing food for customers (especially when touching the food), and pulling the hair back into a braid or bun. Some guys with longer hair sometimes had to wear hairnets because it wasn't long enough to pull into a bun. And don't even THINK about eating something on the clock, unless it's in the back room at the table, away from the food prep counters, and during your break. I think the owners of Flat Rock need to seriously re-evaluate the standards they are setting for their employees.
If I knew that the employees here were held to a higher standard for cleanliness and food handling, I would love to return here one day for a...
Read moreI had a coupon and went to take a friend here as nice treat. Come to find they only do Glutten free Crusts.... Now this is all fine. They have tons of good toppings. However.... The lack of hygiene and customer service was abominable! The employees acted like everything you asked for was an inconvenience. I saw so many violations of health codes I felt sick. One employee sneezed onto his elbow but didn't bother to even try covering up or turning from the food he was prepping.... It was my food.... Some other employee dropped a glove on the floor and went and picked it up. And didn't go to change her gloves or wash her hands. She continued to go and prepare some of the dough! Nasty! After I paid and was waiting for our pizzas to be ready I was watching two employees. One started eating right where the food prep was going on. Next issue is that she would lick her fingers and did not go wash her hands. She and another guy worker both pulled out their phones and stood around checking social media. And then burned my pizza. When they took it out the oven, (still hadn't washed their hands) my pizza crust was black. And the guy did his best to snap off the burnt bits. I'll add a photo of what was left. It didn't taste good because of how burnt it was. I'm still wondering how they are in business with such disgusting employees, and bad business practices. My verdict, is if you plan to spend $15 on a pizza go anywhere else and spend your money. The employees at Little Caesars will at least smile at you and won't sit on their phones and...
Read moreMy husband and I were really excited to try this place because we love MOD in Idaho Falls, but hate the drive. We came in at 12:15 (over an hour after they were supposed to be open) and there was only 1 employee. He hadn’t finished prepping and the nozzles weren’t even on the soda machine yet. Bless his soul because he seemed very new. He was really nice, but it took him a very long time to even get to us (the only ones in the store), let alone to build our pizza. Again, probably because he was new. We waited for probably 10-15 minutes by the time we actually got around to paying and sitting down. It took all of 5 minutes for our pizzas to bake, and they came out burned on the bottom. I’m giving 2 stars because even though it took forever to order and our pizza was burned on the bottom, they still tasted really good!!!! We got the “bacon and mac-n-cheese” and the “smokey hills.” Both were...
