Rexburg Rapids is a fantastic local waterpark that offers a refreshing escape and hours of fun, especially during the warmer months. Nestled conveniently in Rexburg, it's a go-to spot for families, friends, and anyone looking to cool off and enjoy some aquatic entertainment.
One of the immediate draws of Rexburg Rapids is its variety of attractions. From thrilling water slides that cater to the more adventurous to a lazy river perfect for a relaxed float, there's something for every comfort level. The zero-entry pool is a huge plus for families with younger children, allowing little ones to safely splash and play in a shallow environment. The separate splash pad area is also a hit, providing interactive water features that keep toddlers and preschoolers happily entertained.
Food options are available on-site, offering typical snack bar fare like hot dogs, nachos, and drinks for actually affordable prices, which was a pleasant surprise! They also have an Italian ice/frozen custard/gelati window on the opposite side of the pool area, which I highly recommend! We got the gelato with red raspberry on the bottom, chocolate frozen custard in the middle and blue raspberry on top and it was DELICIOUS! Another perk of the park is that you're also usually allowed to bring in your own sealed water bottles!
One minor point to consider is that during peak summer days, Rexburg Rapids can get quite crowded. This can lead to longer lines for the slides and a more bustling atmosphere in the pools. If you prefer a quieter experience, consider visiting during off-peak hours or...
Read moreI took my two kids for the first time. Most of the lifeguards seemed attentive and friendly, but a few seemed to be on a weird power trip. For example, my son was barked at to hurry and get off the little kid slide the instant he landed at the bottom. This startled him and he hurried to get off, and then was yelled at to not run. Can a child win in that scenario? Another example: My almost 8-year-old measured right on the line for height to go down the large slides, so I waited over 30 minutes in line with him. I wouldn't have waited in such a long line with him if I hadn't checked that he measured up first - he did. We watched kids shorter than him being allowed to go down, no problem. But the lifeguard was switched out when it was my kid's turn, and she made him stand up to the line to be sure he was tall enough. His head touched where she measured with her hand, and yet she said he was too short... I was baffled and confused because we both saw the top of his head reach the line. There was a huge line full of kids behind us, I don't like being confrontational, and I didn't want to get into an argument in front of the long line of kids behind us, so we just left the line. But it was frustrating to see rules being broken for kids shorter than mine, and then an aggressively nitpicking lifeguard tell us no. The entirety of the event made me feel like I was going crazy or something. I think there are just a few lifeguards who let a little power go to...
Read moreWe went for a reserved party after public hours. The pools and locker rooms were clean. I didn't see a drinking fountain which would have been nice to have. They did have snacks and Italian ice for sale averaging about $5 an item. There were a few pavilions, some tables/beach chairs and a bit of grass space to use. The little kids pool has a few slides and the water bucket dumper that my older kids liked, but my toddler was scared of. There is a lazy river that I ended up spending most our time in. My son enjoyed climbing their rock wall and jumping back into the water. This was the only "deep" water area and it was about 7.5'. Everywhere else was 3.5' or less. They have two larger slides for adults that my teenage son enjoyed, but he only went a few times because the line was long. You can't wear a lifejacket on the Rockwall or adult slides, for safety reasons. But speaking of lifejackets I was pleased that borrowing a lifejacket for my toddler was free, I left my car keys as collateral and was able to use one of their jackets for her. This was necessary due to the fact that they do not allow the use of infant floaties. I heard a lifeguard say this is a safety measure because they can't see under the floaties to make sure no one is...
