Bixby Bar & Grill — Restaurant in Rich Township

A visit in September 2023 prompted two seperate attempts after. The second attempt we were told by security to move our vehicle from a parking spot because this particular spot belonged to the owner. As we looked around, we saw multiple spots, so didn't understand the concern with a very minimal attendance rate at the time. Tonight, March 22, 2025, we tried to visit at 10:20 PM to grab food and a drink (their food was good during our first visit). After being wanded down (woman) and patted down (my spouse) the security tells me I may not be able to bring my purse in and it needs to be taken back to my car. I explained that was not an option, so we will spend our money with business owners and staff that do not look like us and present minimal problems when it comes to spending money. Who ever makes the food really cares and it shows. I called in after 8pm hungry and was told no phone orders after 8pm. The reviews made me want to go in and order.

I had the fried chicken wings and catfish basket with fries. The food was cooked perfectly and seasoned. I could tell the oil is clean. The catfish tasted like it was cooked in its' own fryer. The fries, chicken and catfish were delicious. The food came with; sauce, bread and utensils.

I had to wait about 20 minutes just like the kitchen said. Despite sticking out like a sore thumb I still had a couple beers and a good time.

This is my 4th time here and I'm so disappointed black owned establishments take us for granted. 3 times I ordered food and people just walk in door and get food before me. On top of that ordered 6 wings got 5 if you're buying shots you get extra treatment. I will not be back here especially since the homies get tojust walk to the kitchen like it's cool.
