Today must have been an off day at Winston’s. I’d been wanting the chicken and shrimp salad since my last visit two weeks ago. I placed my order for the salad along with a veggie plate with two orders of Mac n cheese. They were possibly short on help as well, or had someone working with bad emotions that went into the food. I know I waited about 45 minutes for my order while sitting in my hot car on this 92 degree day. First off the salad was much smaller than I expected, and the few pieces of chicken and shrimp they put on the salad were basically flavorless. The Mac n cheese for my husband was dry and dirty looking as if it came from the bottom of the barrel, or was from the day before, and according to him it was very bland. Usually the food is very good, but after paying over $30 for what I received today, it will be a long time before I visit Winston’s again. This was my first time here, so I wanted a variety to try. I ordered the jerk shrimp and catfish combo with greens, red beans and rice, and Mac and cheese, jerk shrimp alfredo, and beef patty. I initially wanted cabbage, but they were out. The red beans and rice was overcooked, and the gravy on top was runny, not flavorful. The shrimp was overcooked, and neither the shrimp nor Catfish was seasoned with jerk seasoning. Very bland. Tried pouring the jerk sauce on top, it was watery, and tasted like vinegar. Ruined the whole meal. The greens tasted canned. No flavor either. The mac and cheese was ok. My beef patty was hard. The shrimp in the alfredo was also overcooked, and the noodles were hard. I will first start off by saying the customer service is wonderful though there was some stress put on leaving a tip. We would have anyway. With that said, that is the only reason we are giving this place a star. The food was terrible and so was the presentation. We asked for jerk catfish and got blackened catfish that wasn't seasoned well either with pieces missing from it. Looked as though it was stuck to the grill and parts of it came off as they were taking it off the grill. The jerk chicken did not taste like jerk chicken either but more so grilled/blackened, also without seasoning. Overall, the food was tasteless and we threw most of it away. With inflation, throwing away anything especially food is a no, no and money down the drain. I hate that it resulted to this but it wasn't good at all. We are...
