When I first came here, I was very impressed that it was very busy, but was half empty as we were sitting there.
I was very impressed with the service at first. Drink orders came out right away. She was very patient with us in ordering since we never been there. However, as soon as the food was given, that’s when the service stopped. We only had our coffee refilled twice and once the food was served, we didn’t see our waitress except in passing. Our coffee cups were empty half of the time we were there.
The most insulting was when my wife needed boxes. With this place you have to go to the register to pay for the check. Since we couldn’t get our boxes, I went to the register to ask. As soon as I went to register, without saying a word, the cashier immediately started putting in our check in the register. After that the original cashier left as soon as she told me the total and had another server take over as I was trying to ask for the boxes.
What made me mad was when they gave me the boxes and I had to leave the line, there were 2 others that were behind me. As soon as I was coming back to the register, at least one of the other customers gave me dirty looks for leaving the line.
We will not be coming back especially when I saw two other servers standing around the register and was not willing to as least on us.
Lastly, even though the food was great, and came out fast, what was really disappointing was that the menu said that substitutions were an extra charge. My wife replaced her hash browns with toast and was charged $1.50 for the substitution with we took...
Read moreThe food was ok. Nothing close to special. Pancakes were good, grits watery, strange turkey sausage that tasted like leather with sage mixed in. Orange juice was a bottled Orange juice and apple juice blend that came in a prepackaged bottle instead of a cup or glass. That's the good part. The bad part was the service. It was less than lacking. I had two orders one for in house and one to go. I asked if I could get the side (grits) of the to go order with my in house order. The waitress was visibly annoyed. I asked for turkey sausage for my meat because I don't eat pork and they bought me ham, bacon, and a turkey sausage patty thinner than my belt. I ask why they were giving me pork and she said my turkey sausage patty was there with more attitude. It became clear to me this must a family owned diner, because the service and attitude cannot be this bad any other way. After asking again they brought watery grits with no butter packets. By that time the servers were ignoring us so I went up and asked for butter. My friend recommended this place and I've been meaning to try it for years. I decided to go today after my colonoscopy, after not eating solids for two days due to the prep, I was so ready for a delicious breakfast. All I received was adequate diner fare with so much attitude I could barely choke the food down and get out of there fast enough. I should have known because the energy felt off as soon as we entered. This is a place for regulars not looking for decent service. I would not recommend this for...
Read moreYou know, when you have customers in your restaurant, learn to treat your customers with respect. You know, sitting there, laughing and cackling, and whatever, come on when you’ve got customers in there, quit being distracted, learn to help your customers, don’t make your customers get up from their table and try to summon you to come over there. When you’ve got a customer in there, you take care of your customer first before you start laughing and joking. If you can’t do that, then find another job. Customer service is not what it used to be anymore. Especially when you do all young people job, you expect them to do a job serve your customers, their food, instead of making them wait. And when somebody says something to you, you don’t have to get all pissed off and mad and give them dirty looks. I don’t appreciate how my wife was treated in there. And you’ve got two blind people in there, you also need to be able to tell them where their stuff is, you don’t just sit stuff down and just walk away. What do you expect a blind person to just dig around and a get their hands all messy? By touching your food? That’s unsanitary and you know it. A blind person should be able to know where their food is by you telling them. If their foods in front of them, if their drink is in front of them, stuff like that. You have to let blind people know what’s going on. You can’t just expect them to out. I don’t know, find it? No. Not good. I won’t be back unless...
