Tavern on Main Street — Restaurant in Richardson

Place is easy to find with limited free parking spaces. Cocktails were light so not worth the price. Appetizers are good but small portions. Their hand sliced potato chips are very good. Our server, Whitney, was nice and attentive though a busy Friday night. We saw a HUGE cockroach and notified our server about it. We received an apology but no other compensation from her or manager. We took video that can be seen on instagram for getupradiomedia. Food was tasty and good price wise. Nice rib eye steak deal on menu. Having a large group of people, our server, Whitney put tables and chairs together for us. (Very nice of her!!) There was a booth we wanted but management stated it was reserved for someone. We arrived at 7pm and left at 1030pm and that booth stayed empty until 10pm where only 2 people showed up compared to our group of 10. (Not a good call on Management). Karaoke started at 9pm and was good. Upstairs had seating but was closed for some reason. They have a pinball machine, two pool tables and two foosball tables. They also have electronic jukebox to pay and select music to play. Nice for hanging out with friends. Must be 21 to enter. If you plan to have large group event please call in advance to reserve seating (HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!!!) They do allow smoking here everywhere so no specific smoking sections. Nice place overall but they may need to get sprayed...

I love this place, except for.... The smoke... It is a smoking allowed bar, and I hate smoke, but what you gonna do? Been going here, on and off, for 20 years, back when it was named "Main Street Liquid Company" [BEST NAME EVER!]. It's gone though different owners, but the atmosphere is still great. The food is, and always had been, excellent! Very eclectic clientele, and the amount of customers varies from two or three, to a packed house! First time my wife and I went there, it was 4pm on a Thursday afternoon, and there were nine customers, all men. Over the next 30 minutes, a few more customers arrived, all men. We were starting to wonder if we found a non-descript gay bar! However shortly afterwards, some women started arriving, and we just realized it was the male office workers from close by businesses had just taken off early for a drink! Was a funny thought though!

If you can handle smoke, you'll LOVE this place!

Smoke is the only reason I give it four stars. It's a five-star bar, but the smoke just kills me, so I got to be true...

The place is pretty cool. It not the place for a first date, but a great place to hang out with friends. Someone must have overheard that this was the first time we've been there and he bought me a beer. This place felt like "Cheers." Awesome!

They have a huge bar, lots of tablets, pool tables, foosball tables and a karaoke spot. Only thing I would change is the bathroom. It needs an update.

We went for lunch at 1:00 and the bartender who greeted us was nice and friendly. The cook was not in yet, so we had to wait till (s)he came in. We ordered the fried sampler, burger, and chicken fried steak. The portions were huge for the price. I really liked the fries and onion rings as they were super crispy. It was easily one of the top 3 places for the best fries I've EVER tried. Seriously, it was good. The rest of the food was better than expected and tasted pretty good.

Bottom line. I would come here again.
