I travel a lot for work and stopped in for dinner on a Wednesday evening. It was my first time in and I was wearing my business casual attire from the day.
Walking in I was unsure of what to do. There were people, both guests and employees, walking in multiple different directions in front of me. There wasn't a typical hostess stand to let the customer know where to stand or go so it was slightly awkward. The second employee that passed greeted me and she was very nice. Then after another minute or two I was asked if I was picking food up. I said no, just hungry and here to eat. I awkwardly stood about in the hallway area until a table was made ready for me. The nice waitress took me to my seat and said another would be with me shortly.
I was puzzled when I looked at the table and the silverware was on the bare table with a cloth napkin in the middle. Looking around i saw other tables the same. It was moderately busy on the side of the restaurant I was on so I expected to have a certain experience but did not get it. I was in the industry for several years as an accomplished server so I understand how things go.
I ordered a water and my waitress' deameanor seemed off. Rushed, short, annoyed. I initially thought it was me because I didn't know how to act when I walked in due to the lack of a hostess stand. A minute or two passed to get my water and an appropriate amount of time passed before she came to get my order. 3 hand rolls. One of which would need special prep. Unfortunately the amount of time that passed nearly caused me to walk out. I didn't track the exact time but it felt about 25-35min. The food was the correct temperature when received so I assume maybe they just took a long time to make it. A really long time. I ate and finished without another word from my waitress. Eventually I got up and asked to pay. Then left.

Read moreI remember this place. I went years ago with a friend of mine... it was before my daughter was born.. so more than 9 years ago. She really wanted to go, so I just tagged along. We were in the bar section and there was a few high class people talking amongst themselves. They overheard me telling my friend that I didn't want to try sushi. They offered to buy me some and kept insisting on me trying it... and I kept telling them... NO. I guess it fell on deaf ears because lo and behold, I was given sushi to try. My friend gobbled hers up and I tried not to be rude and ate one. When they asked if I liked it, I said it wasn't for me and I thanked them for the sushi. The owner heard what I said and his exact words were... "I'm sure you put other things in your mouth." What is that supposed to mean? My friend had her mouth open in shock and I couldn't believe that someone who owns a business would even say something like that to his customers. Very inappropriate. So, if you don't like something, be prepared for...
Read moreGreat food. Great drinks! They are always consistent with their food. I'm really big on consistency. There's nothing worse than trying food and loving it...then going back and it not being the same. That won't happen here. They have a LARGE variety of food. Nykos stands for New York/ Korea. Aka you can find anything from burgers, to pasta, to authentic sushi. They offer it all! Their sushi is the freshest sushi I've had in Pennsylvania. I'm a sushi connoisseur and their chef rolls are to die for. If you like something on the spicy side you must try their volcano roll! You can get it from a level 1-10 in spiciness. Be careful...the 10 will rock your world! (In a great way). If you're looking for something for summer I highly recommend the Hawaiian roll! Take advantage of their deck during the summer. Overall this...
