Dining at Sage Grill was, unfortunately, an experience that left much to be desired, primarily due to the remarkably poor service and the less-than-ideal cleanliness of the establishment. From the outset, the simple request for condiments turned into an ordeal that could only be described as frustratingly inefficient. The difficulty in obtaining hot sauce and syrup was perplexing in itself, given these are staple accompaniments in many dining establishments. However, the situation further devolved when the requested Cholula hot sauce was mistakenly replaced with Jalapeño Tabasco. The two sauces bear little resemblance to each other, both in appearance and in taste, leading one to wonder if the mix-up was an error or, as it felt in the moment, a deliberate act of spite.
This lapse in service, unfortunately, was not an isolated incident but seemed reflective of a broader disregard for customer satisfaction and attention to detail that permeated our dining experience. The mix-up could have been easily forgiven if addressed promptly and with a sincere apology. However, the lack of concern displayed by the staff added a layer of disappointment to the meal.
Adding to the discomfort was the cleanliness of Sage Grill, or rather, the lack thereof. The ceiling, adorned with decor and vents, was layered with dust so thick it seemed a testament to neglect rather than a mere oversight. The omnipresent threat of dust particles drifting into our food as we ate was disconcerting, to say the least. It's a fundamental expectation that dining areas, especially the surfaces above the food and patrons, be kept clean to ensure a safe and pleasant eating environment. Unfortunately, this basic standard was not met, further detracting from our dining experience.
The ambiance of a restaurant, while secondary to the quality of food and service, plays a crucial role in creating an inviting dining environment. The neglect in maintaining the cleanliness of the establishment, especially in areas as visible as the ceiling and decor, is difficult to overlook and mars the overall dining experience. It suggests a lack of pride in the presentation and upkeep of the dining area, which is disappointing for patrons looking for a pleasant meal out.
In conclusion, while Sage Grill might have the potential to offer a delightful dining experience, our visit was marred by poor service and concerning cleanliness standards. The mix-up with the hot sauce, which could have been a minor hiccup in an otherwise pleasant meal, instead felt emblematic of a larger issue of inattentiveness and disregard for customer preferences. Combined with the troubling lack of cleanliness, it's hard to recommend Sage Grill to others without significant improvements in these areas. Dining out is a holistic experience, and unfortunately, Sage Grill fell short of meeting the basic expectations of service and...
Read moreI was meeting a good friend, Stephanie Swenson, for breakfast at 11:00 on Tuesday. I arrived first and asked the server (young, shoulder length dark hair) if I could have a booth. I was told they don't put 2 in a booth and she pointed to a table. I asked for coffee. After 5 minutes I asked the same server. She brought it and said if I was thinking breakfast I had 2 minutes because they quit serving at 11:00. I hurried and ordered a cinnamon roll. I texted Stephanie and she sent a description of her breakfast order. I took it to the server she showed it to the other server, they showed it to the cook then handed my phone back. The server brought out the roll, cold, butter wouldn't melt, and put my check by the plate. I asked for more coffee it didn't come and Stephanie walked in. I start to complain about her choice of diner ands he walked in the back, hugged the cook, hugged one of the waitresses meanwhile my server is over talking about me to some customers, then talking about Stephanie. Stephanie got us coffee and got her breakfast brought to her. She told me she knew the owners. Stephanie then got me coffee and we chatted while she ate. No coffee. No how was everything. Wasn't your roll good as the whole thing is still sitting here. Nothing. I handed my card to Stephanie to pay as I was going to leave comments. I will NEVER go here again. As long as I am treated like that I will NOT BE BACK. Stephanie said she would talk to the owners. I hope so. Something needs to be done with that...
Read moreJust read other bad reviews and decided to edit mine to mention another review I have just read. After reading Kendra fisher and Jeanetteâs review I would say I agree 100% as I had a similar experience there. Donât know how it has 4.6 stars. Must be the family and regulars who have given the restaurant great reviews as they seem to get better and friendly service. Iâm not trying to be mean at all but I was not happy with my food. Im not the type to complain, so I didnât and have just decided to not go again. Staff were not mean or rude but werenât as friendly as most other places. They never asked or refilled my coffee. Maybe I didnât order the right dish or go at the right time đ 11:00 am. I ordered eggs Benedict and pancakes (which turned out to be one huge pancake, which didnât taste as good as it looked). My son didnât like it and I ate three bites and threw away the rest. Could barely eat my eggs Benedict. Iâve had eggs Benedict many times as itâs my favorite breakfast and it was first time I had trouble eating them. Had to drink a lot of water to stuff it down and prayed it didnât come back up. I could really taste the lemon in the sauce and was just too much for me. If you like âlemonyâ eggs then definitely recommend the place. I didnât mind the restroom being in the kitchen as most places like it have the restrooms there. The price wasnât great and the fact I wouldnât return makes me give it one star. I wouldnât give it no stars or negative as it wasnât a...
